The real gamble is to play Junaid or Fahim.

I am for not playing both Fakhar and Azhar and slotting in both Junaid and Fahim. Risky option tho.

Btw Shehzad has superior away stats to Hafeez. So, not "any stats you want to use".

Since Shehzad's debut, Hafeez has scored 2905 runs at an average of 37 away, while Shehzad has scored 1332 runs at an average of 33.

You wouldn't get everyone to bowl their quota so it's not useful to have both Junaid and Fahim. If Junaid is going to have 1/50 kind of stats, certainly Fahim+Malik+Hafeez can bowl a better 10 overs.

Their attack isn't that good. But yes there isn't much difference between Hafeez+Shehzad or Hafeez+Fakhar.

True. Hafeez/Shehzad/Fakhar. Any two would go if we look at it holistically.

Is this a reasonable line up? Can we rely that much on Fahim? Will Hafeez agree to open? Is there a chance Fakhar can open instead of Hafeez? I ask this because I know Hafeez won't be dropped, but if he's not willing to open, can Fakhar do it?

Shehzad, Hafeez, Babar, Fakhar, Malik, Sarfraz, Imad, Fahim, Shadab, Amir, Hasan

I think Imad, Hafeez, Malik, and Fahim can bowl a solid 20 overs. Amir, Shadab, and Hasan to bowl 10 each.

If Haris or Fakhar score runs today they will get selected.

Play both. Drop Azhar and Wahab. Pick this 11:

    1. Hafeez
    2. Ahmed Shahzad
    3. Babar Azam
    4. Shoaib Malik
    5. Sarfraz
    6. Fahim Ashraf
    7. Imad Wasim
    8. Amir
    9. Shadab Khan
    10. Hassan Ali
    11. Junaid Khan

    6. Azhar Ali
    7. Shadab Khan
    8. Junaid Khan

    1. Sarfaraz Ahmed ( He can open and has performed in the past as an opener. Keeping the PP overs score ticking even if wickets fall )
    2. Fakher Zamaan ( opportunity of a lifetime to perform well against India and cement his place as a permeant opener )
    3. Babar Azam
    4. Hafeez
    5. Shoaib Malik
    6. Imad Wasim / Harris Sohail
    7. Fahim
    8. Shadab Khan
    9. Amir
    10. Hassan Ali
    11. Junaid Khan / Wahab Riaz
This is an ideal 11, as per my opinion. Depth to attack lower down the order. Fahim, Hasan, Amir can give us lapaaro hits.

3 pacers, 4 all rounders ( Fahim, Imad wasim, Hafeez and Harris .. Yes its true harris can bowl ), 1 spinner - shadab. He can bat as well.

Azhar at 6. Only a fanboy would do that. This team is great if you want India to win.

Why don't you guys want Faheem Ashraf at No. 6? If he is good enough to score runs, he must bat at No. 6 and Imad should bat at 7. Go with a positive mindset if you have to win. If you keep hiding Fahim down the order, it wont help. Send him at 6 and Imad at 7. If they were good enough to win a warm up match whereas others could not then they should be good enough to win you real match too!!

Seems like Wahab is injured so this will be the probable 11:

    1. Hafeez
    2. Azhar Ali / Ahmed Shahzad (seems like Azhar will be preferred despite Ahmed's superior form)
    3. Babar Azam
    4. Shoaib Malik
    5. Sarfraz
    6. Fahim Ashraf
    7. Imad Wasim / Ahmed Shahzad (if Ahmed will play, he will open but Imad is likely to get the nod)
    8. Amir
    9. Shadab
    10. Hassan
    11. Junaid
These are the probables. I think in the end, Ahmed may get preferred but it will be difficult to bench Azhar and Imad will also play I think cus he offers extra bowling option.

This is the best possible 11 from the squad available. It's the 11 with most potential to challenge India.

Azhar and Shehzad should not be played. Both score at rate of 70's and its impossible to expect them to improve for tomorrow.

Also Hafeez is a must as he's the best ODI all rounder in Pakistan on flat wickets.

Fakhar and Fahim should play based upon their faster paced games.

Haris should also play as he's got a good game against fast bowlers

Batting all the way to no. 8, with Amir and Hassan more than capable of 20's and 6's if needed

    1. Hafeez
    2. Fakhar
    3. Babar
    4. Malik
    5. Haris
    6. Sarfraz
    7. Fahim
    8. Imad
    9. Amir
    10. Hassan
    11. Junaid

Also I'm really impressed with how Pakistan's bowling is coming along.

    Amir is awesome in LOI's.
    Hassan is a wicket taker.
Junaid when fit is good with the new ball and in end overs.
Imad is a very handy economical bowler along with being a genuine batsman (averages 41 in FC)
