If you have any say, please have your opinion.
Slinga Malinga will be a big test for Afridi. His yorkers will be hard to slog. Maybe see him off if they meet.
my money would be on Malinga, hopefully Afridi sees sense and plays him out if he has to face him(unless the situation calls for him to hit out in which case as I said, Malinga will likely win that one)
If Afridi plays sensibly like he did in the 2009 final, he should be fine. Avoided the bouncers pretty well that day.
He should ideally look to target other bowlers.
ideally by the time afridis batting malinga wont have many overs left, that can only happen if the top order plays him well... so its a bigger test for guys like hafeez, masood, fawad etc.
once afridis out there and malingas got 2 overs left, he's not going to set the world on fire (mind you he proved earlier he needs just the one over lol)
When their is a battle between a bowler and a batsman, the bowler should always be the favorite. The bowler has a chance to bowl sixty deliveries, and one bad ball doesn't end his day.
For a batsman however, even a slight mistake could end the day for you.
So although, it should be a good contest, Malinga's action would trouble afridi. If it were somebody like Moin, who had a very low stance, i would have gone ahead with him, because it is easier for batsman like him. Afridi would be handy against their spinners though
Afridi can do it, though just needs to take time to get himself set. If boom boom gets set, get ready for a repeat of the 09 final (fingers crossed).
Need to make sure Malinga doesn't get a 5 fer this time.
This time Afridi will give him respect
Afridi get caught usually when ball pitched short where as Malinga bowls too many yorkers which at times if not pitched at right length becomes juicy for slog n Afiridi will take him over
But if you remember the last series Malinga was expensive against Afridi...
It was just a bad luck of Afridi in the opening match.
Not expecting to repeat his two previous innings. But i hope i am wrong.
If Afridi can somehow manage to deal with yorkers, he'll be the winner of this mini-contest within the match. Otherwise Malinga will have Afridi LBW.
yes very right but in that series Malinga wasnot in good form,Paki batsmen didnot give him respect.I remember our batsmen used crease n played good shots against Malinga yorkers
Malinga of course!
could be Afridi. he is in good touch. but Malinga will still get at least 4 wickets
