Its not knee jerk, its a long held belief from my side, something i have said on different occasions. I am a believer in having Pakistani captains for our domestic sides with foreign experienced players as VCs to act as mentors. Lahore's management went for the wrong (paindu) lahori boy in Umar Akmal whose brain's status is unstable. They missed out on the real son of Lahore, Ahmed Shehzad. Not only Shehzad is HBL's current captain but also has captained Peshawar's team to a tournament victory in a recent ODI tourney and his aggressive captaincy was for all to see. QG is too small a pond for Shehzad considering the fact that he would never be able to captain QG due to Sarf. I hope he moves to Lahore as their captain with BMac as the VC/mentor to gain valuable leadership experience and to give some personality to Lahore. This is how you train your future captains and not end up with Azhar Alis captaining your LOI side.
