I would give Musa a go in the 1st test to see how he goes! In the 2nd test, atleast 1 pacer will be replaced by Naseem, whoever does not perform (Musa or Shaheen)!!

This team desperately needs an all rounder. Azhar and Harris better be practicing their bowling as a 4 man bowling line up will get ground down for 500+ here.

As for batting, I just don't see how they can make 250 plus. Cummins, Hazlewood, Starc, Lyon will eat these guys alive

this will be a brutal dismantling. I feel bad for the youngsters who are going to be thrown into the fire whilst our veteran bowlers who have been invested in for a decade put their feet up and look forward to t20 paydays.

it doesnt matter what side they put out, it will be total humiliation most likely.

shan is not a test player, Azhar and shafiq have failed to step up and lead, imam is poor in this format too. im unconvinced by Babar in this format, and our all rounder Bhatti averages 24 in FC batting.

I like Abid, Sohail, Rizwan and iftikhar though,

they should have played salahuddin, fakhar and perhaps alam.

on the bowling, Yasir is likely finished, Imran is a decent place holder, and lets hope Abbas's recent form is a dip rather than decline - I would definitely have selected and played him, but my gut is telling me that we might be seeing the same thing as with Fakhar. Musa and shah have no experience - its really weird to have thrown them in like this, hoping they are the next Wasim Akram. if they are not, their confidence will be decimated. Shaheen is very good, but again it should be Wahab and amir bowling here and soaking up the pressure, whilst they develop shaheen in odis and develop him slowly in my opinion.

That lineup was named prior to practice match. After the practice match, the lineup changed due to good performance of Imran Khan. Right now, there are 4 pacers fighting for 3 spots - Abbas, Imran, Shaheen and Naseem Shah~ Lets see which out of these misses out from 1st test playing 11!!

No need to be emotional over one spell.

If Babar scored a duck and Bhatti scored a century, would you drop Babar for him?

Mohammad Abbas, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem Shah are the best options and it's not close.

Good for Imran Khan. If Pakistan needs him later, it's good to know that he has this performance under his belt.

Naseem Shah should play, and yes, he will be most likely taken to cleaners - which is OK.
    This is a learning experience.

And then again, why only single out Naseem Shah? All Pak pacers will be smacked.

In my opinion if it’s between Afridi and Imran then I will probably pick Afridi as he is a lefty, and perhaps in better form as he has been playing international cricket.

Perhaps our key wicket taker will be Iftikhar.

Batting at 3 in these conditions is difficult!! Babar maybe the best batsman but Azhar and Harris are supposed to be the senior batsmen!! Let them take all the pressure and let Babar score an easy 100~ A 100 is a 100 after all and 100 helps the team!! Let Babar get a good 100 batting at 5 on day one!!

He will be left by himself. Its best if he faces max overs

No. 3 per ja kar agar jaldi out hogaya na last t20 ki tarah to puri team 100 per nikal legi!! He might be the best batsman right now but he is so far best in limited overs only, he still needs time to get adjusted to test format although he is now getting settled in all formats!

Pakistan’s head coach-cum-chief selector Misbahul Haq, in an exclusive interview with cricket.com.au on Monday, dropped a major hint about the possible debut of the 16-year-old pace sensation Naseem Shah.

Misbah called the 16-year-old the standout bowler for the Men in Green and claimed that the fast-bowler could be a match-winner for the side.

“The best thing about Naseem Shah is the control he has on his bowling. He has a very good bowling action and knows which deliveries to bowl. He can bowl with a very good control,” Misbah told cricket.com.au. “He knows his stuff and bowled really well in the first-class matches he played this season. He's bowled well here too and is the standout bowler for us. The way he's been bowling, he can be a match-winner for us.”

The 45-year-old believed that the team would not buckle under the pressure of history and face the challenge by playing good cricket.

“Our previous record in Australia won't put us under pressure. If anything, it'll be an opportunity and motivation to win because whatever we couldn't achieve in the past, we can do now,” he said. “It's a young and hungry team and it means business. This team wants to take the challenge. We want to give our best, play good cricket and think about winning.”

The former captain backed the struggling leg-spinner Yasir Shah and expressed hope that the bowler would perform better than his previous outing Down Under.

“We know Yasir hasn't done well in these conditions, but three years is a long time. He now has experience of playing in Australia,” he said. “He's coming on this tour on the back of some good performances in first-class cricket, where he's bowled long spells. He's worked a lot on his bowling, keeping the conditions in mind. We'll make the final game plan and see how effective Yasir is in it.”

The 45-year-old believed that batsman Babar Azam would be the key player for the Men in Green in their upcoming encounter against Australia.

“There is a world of difference between Babar of 2016 and Babar now. He's now a matured and experienced player. He plays good shots on the back foot, which will be handy in these conditions. He's scored runs in T20s as well as in the tour match so he'll be coming into the series on the back of some good form. He's our key player,” he concluded.

Should have thought about Faheem Ashraf and Shadab Khan!! Would have extended the batting as well as strengthened the bowling. Allrounders are important in a situation like this!

Naseem set to create history as Pakistan gear up for Brisbane Test

Pakistan’s 16-year-old pacer Naseem Shah is all set to make his Test debut in the first of tw0-match series against Australia in Brisbane, starting on Thursday, November 21.

The visiting team’s captain Azhar Ali revealed, in a press conference on Wednesday, that Naseem will be part of Pakistan’s lineup for the first Test.

"We are definitely looking to play him," said Azhar. "He’s bowling really well. We’ll announce the side tomorrow but he’s definitely going to be part of it.”

Naseem will create history as soon as he steps onto the field by becoming the youngest player to make a Test debut in Australia.

Naseem, whose mother died last week, has only played seven first-class games, but impressed with a fiery eight-over spell against Australia A in Perth in the build-up.

Azhar also heaped praise on the rookie pacer by admiring the talent he possessed with the ball.

"Not many players can reach that standard so early but there are exceptions and he’s one of them. We are all looking forward to him having a very successful career,” he said. “When I saw him first I was so surprised ... the control he had, the pace he had and on top of it all the temperament and the composure when he bowls is so exciting to see."

Meanwhile Australia captain Tim Paine also believes that Naseem is a really exciting talent and he was looking forward to playing against him.

"I played against a few [16-year-olds] last week in club cricket. Certainly at Test level it’s a bit unusual but by the looks of him he looks a really exciting talent. Pakistan have got a knack of finding these young fast-bowlers. He looks like another one that’s going to add to that rich history of fast-bowlers they seem to produce," said Paine.

Smith carried his side in the recent Ashes series against England and Paine said he wanted to see the rest of the batsmen offer him more support against Pakistan.

"Probably during the Ashes we relied too heavily on Steve, so the rest of top seven are really keen to score a lot of runs," he said. "Traditionally we love batting in Australia, we have had some real success on this ground, it's a great ground to bat on if you can get in and spend a lot of time out there."

Joe Burns, who scored a century in his last Test against Sri Lanka in February, is expected to open with Warner. Smith or Marnus Labuschagne will bat at number three, followed by Travis Head, Matthew Wade and Paine.

Coach Justin Langer echoed Paine's call for more consistency from Australia's batting line-up.

"We're number five in the world in Test cricket at the moment, and there's reasons for that," said Langer. "One of them is that we don't score 300-plus in the first innings enough. Our batters are very aware of that. We're not going to shy away from that. It's no secret. We know we've got to keep improving and I'm confident we will."

    Australia squad

Tim Paine (c), Cameron Bancroft, Joe Burns, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Michael Neser, James Pattinson, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade, David Warner

    Pakistan squad

Azhar Ali (c), Abid Ali, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Imam-ul-Haq, Imran Khan Snr, Iftikhar Ahmed, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Musa Khan, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shan Masood, Yasir Shah.

Naseem Shah has been handed his Pakistan cap. He will make his debut as expected.

Adil Adil: "It's nearly mid night in London, freezing and cold . AUS and UK has a lot difference in time zone. I have tomorrow morning Job but can't miss young Naseem SHAH bowling."

9.00am Pakistan coach Misbah-Ul-Haq thinks he knows Steve Smith's blind spot. Smith himself is wary of Mohammad Abbas, who tormented Australia in the last Test series in the UAE.

8.45am Pakistan are set to unveil 16-year-old Naseem Shah. What were you doing at 16?
