We should ban white people entering the UK, until we can figure out, what the hell is going on...
You're comparing Apples and Oranges here. One if the front page of the paper, one is a facebook link to an article
This is the front page.
You're also comparing only one paper
Also, two witnesses said he said "Britain first". One has already retracted it
You've proven my point, the front page are also going with the cliched "loner with mental issues" line we get whenever a white shooter in the west commits a politically motivated atrocity.
At least three verified witnesses have spoken to The Independent and said he definitely shouted "we need to put Britain first" twice.
The man has also been seen pictured at the centre of a Britain First rally and had a subscription to a pro-Apartheid magazine and books from American neo-Nazi organisation the National Alliance.
Spoke to a guy, he said his daughter lives in the same area and according to her this lady was more involved in foreigner issue rather than serving the soceity... and was quite vocal as well and has recieved threats before but still spoke in favour of foreigners.
Because it isn't Britain First policy to kill people on their views while it is ISIS/Taliban's policy to do so? Because ISIS/Taliban claim to be responsible for the attack and Britain First have not?
Let me ask you this question - if this man shouted Allahu Akbar in this attack do you honestly think the Mail and other outlets would still be describing him as a timid loner with mental issues ?
This man has just shouted "death to traitors, freedom for Britain" this morning in court, there's a litany of stories confirming he has far-right links and yet the right-wing are still downplaying how his politics contributed to this murder which they'd never do with a Muslim terrorist.
This is the DEFINITION of white privilege.
The same people saying "don't politicise a tragedy" are the same folks who couldn't wait to do just that when the Orlando shooter was revealed to be Muslim.
That's untrue to say she ignored local issues. Yes she was vocal on issue of Syrian refugees but she was chair of the All Party Parliamentary group Friends of Syria. She also has a background in international development as she previously worked for Oxfam.
However all UK MPs run weekly advice surgeries in their constituencies where people can speak to their MPs and talk about their problems, and Jo Cox was popular with locals for always being accessible. Unlike many MPs she actually was born in the constituency she represents. She was also passionate in helping local businesses.
Did ISIS claim responsibility for it just after Orlando? Yes
Did Britain First do the same? No, they denounced it.
That is the difference and why one is a loner and one is an actual terrorist
Lol at saying he was a loner. White priviledge evidently on display yet again.
However it's not surprising, the media in this country is anti-islam in general.
Not really, apparently the Orlando guy didn't actually have any links with IS. He also seemed to be some mental individual.
Sitora Yusufiy lived with Mateen for four months in 2009. She said her family had "rescued" her from the relationship when they became aware he was being physically abusive.
He beat her up regularly during their short-lived marriage for trivial things like not doing laundry, she said.
"When he would get in his tempers, he would express hate toward everything. He was mentally unstable and mentally ill: that's the only explanation that I could give."
"There is no clear evidence that the Orlando gunman was directed by the so-called Islamic State group (IS), US President Barack Obama has said."
Funny they say all this days after the attack, but before this they all immediately assumed that he's Muslim and therefore he attacked gays.
Now there are rumours that he was a closet gay. Think it's pretty evident he had mental issues.
This came out later. What happened immediately was he said ISIS, and ISIS said ISIS, so obviously ISIS was on the news.
Here, he said Britain first, and Britain first said that we don't condone murder, and only want what's best for Britain
Terrorism does not depend on any allegiance to one organisation.
The definition of terrorism is the "unauthorised use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims" - yet only one of these individuals will be labelled as as a terrorist by the mainstream press because of their religion despite the fact they're both in reality two loathsome sides of the same coin. Or are terrorists only those with brown skin ?
As for Britain First, their leader Paul Golding has said they specialise in "militant direct action" and have publicly stated they are pursuing a "direct action campaign against Muslim elected officials" targeting "where they live, work, pray" - this is a charter for violence. If a Muslim MP was killed in such a manner, would they have denounced it given their statements ?
They denounce violence. She was a Muslim sympathiser according to them, yet them denounced it.
As for pursuit of political aims, then yes, an attack for ISIS, organised by ISIS is pursuit of political aims. An attack by a deranged nut claiming he did it for some organisation he has zero links to and which denounced it is not.
1 day to go before the decision of our lifetime. I'll make a final pitch. Whilst I would've liked to seen a more positive campaign from Remain, the Vote Leave campaign have been a myth-making machine. Its a LIE that we contribute £350m a week. Its a LIE to say the EU is an oversized bureaucracy when it employs around the same number of people as Derbyshire County Council !
Its a LIE to say Turkey are set to join the EU. Its a LIE when Gisela Stuart says we'll be forced into paying for "bailout after bailout" when the UK agreed as part of the reform deal it will not have to pay for future Eurozone bailouts and has a veto over EU budget increases. Its a LIE that immigrants are stealing our jobs when about 6 million people take up a “new job” in the UK every year and no more than 1 in 5 of them was born abroad. Its HYPOCRISY that the same Tory Leavers who rejected House of Lords reform are complaining about how undemocratic the EU is. Don't blame immigrants for the housing crisis when its the fault of successive governments who have a pathetic record on housebuilding. Blame the exploitative employer not adhering to minimum wage laws, not the Polish cleaner.
This is a choice between two Britains. One is Britain remaining an outward looking nation, cooperating with our allies to tackle the big issues like climate change and tax avoidance. Not allowing us to waste the sacrifices of our forefathers who fought for the freedom of our continent. The other is Nigel Farage's petty minded, paranoid, insular, Little Englander nation. A win for Leave is rewarding those behind a relentless campaign of racism, bigotry and xenophobia.
I respect those with differing views, but I'm praying that Britain decides not to turn its back on Europe tomorrow.
Anyone who wants to vote should read Katie Hopkin's commonsense article. Leave is the only logical choice
i voted weeks ago, the chance to get rid of a layer of bureaucracy and a whole ruling class only comes around once in a lifetime.
i believe the uk can govern itself better when then the decision makers have lived, worked and earned their electoral mandate in the country.
i believe despite short term hardship a britain free to trade with the world, and to tailor regulations, in its best interests would not only survive but thrive outside the eu.
i believe that despite whether long term immigration increases or decreases a points based immigration system is fundamentally fairer than open borders immigration.
i believe in decentralisation and am ideologically opposed to the aspiration of political union the eu aspires to and thats why i voted the way i did.
You just put Katie Hopkins and 'logical' in the same sentence...enough said
Comprehension fail. Enough said.
To be fair to him he's clearly put them in separate sentences
theresa may floating the idea of removing the ban on grammar schools. having been through the worst of secondary schooling this country has to offer cannot welcome the news more.
hope she manages to pass this through, i did not support her to lead the tori party, but if she gets this through i'll pbly have to rethink that.
for non uk readers, grammer schools are basically selective schools that allow the brightest young kids to get something close to private education levels of attention and tutelage without paying for a private education.
Wouldn't rich people just be able to tutor kids past papers to pass this stuff like we have at Pakistani Metric and Inter, Uni admission level basically?
they do, middle and upper class background kids are over represented in grammar schools, but that is primarily because of the incredible scarcity of them, around 200 in the whole country.
also the added cost of tuition to pass the entry exam is far less than even a single term at a private school, the cost floor for access is greatly reduced when compared to private schooling, and finally the truly clever kids would find a way to pass regardless of difficulty.
as far as social mobility goes only 5 elected UK PMs have come from non fee paying schools, and all 5 were from grammar schools. the rich will always have an advantage in educating their kids, this simply makes it a lot fairer on the brightest poor kids.
I'll take your word for it lol
UK system seems complicated
its very classist, the private sector instills their students the aspiration of getting straight As, going to uni, getting the top jobs.
when i was in secondary they considered it an achievement getting me a two week unpaid work placement in a projector shop and teachers were surprised if anyone made it to a top uni.
Sounds even worse than here lol
disclaimer, i did go to one of the worst schools in the country so my experience may not be an objective reflection of the system as a whole
we had our own school pcso, we had police vans showing up to arrest students or staff, drug use was rampant, i saw kids get battered till they ended up in hospital or worse, the year i entered pass rates were 30% 5 a-c, the year i left it was 20% 5 a-c, our head teacher and top 4 teachers embezzled the school out of a mill and i we had supply teachers for our last two years.
there were some honest people who tried to make things work but they were fighting a losing battle. the school got shut down the year after i left because it was considered a security issue.
Jesus christ that sounds insane, any specific stories?
Sounds really intriguing in a horrible sort of way
Had all this at my school here too
I thought what kind of fricking place have I come to after Dubai?
the most amusing stories were the funny ones, we had a teacher who was having a fling with another teacher, who in turn was cheating on him with another teacher (we realised this after she got out of his car barely being able to walk straight) and a kid who bought her a mobile phone.
when the news got out poor guy was so embarrassed he emigrated to south africa
i knew of kids who used to "come to school" only to sit on the bus stop bench for 6 hours cos they didnt want to be in school and there parents wouldnt let them stay home.
Homerton boys' school? I went there too!
knew i should have left the money thing out :| dam google, doesnt delete anything...
*all of cricistan reads up on raja's school history*
