Captaincy difference of Sarfaraz and Fakhar

On one hand when Misbah hit Lamichane for 2 sixes in one over, Fakhar didnt bowl him again. Fakhar preferred to bowl Doeshchate(miltary medium pacer) ahead of Lamichane and the match which Lahore should have won after restricting Peshwar to 20/5, they lost.

One the other hand When Ronchi hit Fawad in his 3rd over for 14 runs, Sarfaraz still brought him to bowl 4th over. Sarfaraz knew that for Quetta to win, they have to get Ronchi out and Fawad delivered. Captaincy makes a huge difference. Glad to see Sarfaraz went to take wicket rather than being defensive.

Fakhar totally messed up today.

He was defending a low score and his bowlers had them at 20-5. Should have gone in for the kill rather than save Shaheen/best bowlers for the death. Poor poor captaincy.

 

There is a huge difference in Captaining in a Mickey Mouse league and International Games. PCB is the worst in grooming Captains and thus we are stuck with Sarfaraz.

 

Do PCB also have to feed them food with their own hands ?

 

Sarfraz is still our best choice for captain. He’s been leading the Pakistani team since u19 days

Grooming Captains is their job not teaching players how to eat. You can't be that dumb.

What do you mean by this? You want to say that it is a player's choice to lead a domestic side? Captains does not appoint themselves they are appointed by PCB or other regional Cricket authorities working under PCB. Yes leadership can't be taught but leadership skills can be polished by giving ample opportunities to individuals who you want to lead your national side one day. PCB should take the Captain's grooming seriously and work on this aspect. Currently what they are doing is just appointing the senior guy as Captain which is a failed policy and this is not from past 4-5 years this is going on since independence.

 

Harsh on Fakhar. Sarfaraz has been captaining all his life whereas Fakhar is va young, inexperienced captain

 

Fakhar was poor yesterday, no doubt about it. Not because he didn't bowl Sandeep but because he took Rahat and Haris off the attack at 20/5.

 

All others have looked out of depth even in this Mickey Mouse league so what would they do in internationals lol
