A short article written by me. Hope you all enjoy. Take a deep breath and imagine the scene. It's the 5th of July. A Friday, what is known as a blessed day for Pakistanis. Is today the day for miracles? The Pakistani captains strides to the wicket for the toss. A cornered tigers shirt on his body. Memories of 92 are still alive but only briefly. Even the most die hard fans dont dare to believe, but still the thinnest of Hope exists. Back home a few people still pray on their prayer beads and hands are still raised in dua. This is Pakistan. You just never know. Amateur mathematicians have pondered over every possible scenario. the chances are so remote that they are beyond impossible. A victory that will smash the world record and become the greatest comeback in not just cricket, but sport as a whole! Sarfraz' cornered tigers shirt is stretched over his slightly rotund body so that instead of roaring the tiger ironically appears to be yawning. Is this a sign? He takes a good hard look at the pitch. It wont happen...but the pitch looks like it could contain a lot of runs. Surely it's too late though? Sarfraz appears confident. Unwaveringly so. The bangali captain appears. It's time for the toss. The coin is tossed. It spins in the air for an age. 200 million prayers will it to land on the correct side. It lands...and Sarfraz wins the toss. It's a small victory but today this is crucial. The microphone is given to him. Sarfraz what will you do? Thats the question asked but it's one everyone knows the answer to today. He smiles and answers. 'The pitch is looking good but theres some early moisture in the wicket. We will have a bowl'
