    Should this be allowed?

Isn't it not comparable to South Africans wearing pink kits for a good cause of breast cancer awareness every year?

Or is it not punishable like Moeen Ali supporting Gaza?

Or Is it OTT and could have been done just by the more traditional cricket practice of wearing black arm bands?

Moeen Ali was punished for his Palestine ban so this also shouldn’t be allowed. But as usual ICC won’t say anything.

OTT in my opinion. If they want to show solidarity with their army why not wear blank arm bands.

Another loss for the Indians. Everything associated with their armed forces has ended in a loss.

Politicalizing a Cricket game. Indians had lost it. Losing the game was icing on the cake.

Idiotic but just the logical extension of politicising sports. In the charged environment they've created, imagine them losing matches to Pakistan in the WC. No wonder they are trying to find a way to withdraw and surrender the WC game to Pakistan to avoid an outright loss that may result in a whooping when they get home.

Pakistan’s calls for action against Indian cricket team for sporting military caps

Muscat: Pakistan’s Information Minister has asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to take action against the Indian Cricket team for sporting military caps during the third One Day International match against Australia on Friday.

The Indian team wore military caps to honour the Indian armed forces who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack, and to encourage the citizens of the country to donate to the National Defence Fund.

On the day of the match, the Board of Control for Cricket in India wrote on their official twitter account: “Team India will be sporting camouflage caps today as mark of tribute to the loss of lives in Pulwama terror attack and the armed forces. And to encourage countrymen to donate to the National Defence Fund for taking care of the education of the dependents of the martyrs.”

However, Fawad Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Information Minister has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board to lodge a formal protest against India as he believes that the team had politicised the game by wearing such caps.
“It’s just not cricket," he said on his official Twitter account. "I hope ICC will take action for politicising the gentleman’s game ... if the Indian Cricket team will not be stopped, Pakistan Cricket team should wear black bands to remind the world about Indian atrocities in Kashmir... I urge PCB to lodge formal protest.”

so the question is in the WC, or if. the two teams were to face off, would there be a reciprocal action? I would guess not, hopefully cooler heads prevail and realise its not worth the provocation. but if it does happen, I would suggest the pak team come out all with big wing moustaches.

Needed to do it for the country: Bharat Arun on Team India's tribute to Pulwama martyrs

The Indian cricket team's gesture to honour the Pulwama martyrs by wearing special caps in the third ODI against Australia in Ranchi earned the players high praise from their fans. However, Pakistan Cricket Board and a few of their ministers were irked after MS Dhoni handed out

In fact, Pakistan's Information minister Fawad Chaudhry called for the International Cricket Council to ban the Indian cricket team for mixing politics with sports. The Pakistan Cricket Board even complained to the ICC about India's decision to wear special caps in Ranchi. However, the world governing body said India had sough permission.

On Tuesday, India's bowling coach Bharat Arun said what PCB thought and did was beyond the Indian team's control and said Virat Kohli's men did what they did for the country.

"We did what we really felt we needed to do it for the country... showing solidarity in what the army has done for the country," Arun said at a press conference on the eve of the series deciding ODI against Australia. "We wanted to show our appreciation for the cause. It's beyond us to think what PCB is saying. It's beyond our control.

"I think BCCI has done well to get the permission from the ICC and handed over the caps to the players. We wanted to show solidarity and that's what we have done."

Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ehsan Mani said he had "strongly taken up the matter with the ICC."

"There's absolutely no misunderstanding in the ICC about our position," Mani said late Sunday in Karachi. "We believe that cricket and sports should not be used for politics and we have said this very clearly. Their [India] credibility in the cricketing world has gone down very badly."

ICC responded by saying India were given permission to wear the caps.

"The BCCI sought permission from the ICC to wear the caps as part of a fundraising drive and in memory of fallen soldiers who have died, which was granted," ICC spokeswoman Claire Furlong told The Associated Press in an e-mail on Monday.
