Should have at least had a few ICC titles under their belt, if not at least number one test rankings, if not, atleast series wins in SA and Aus ?

Look at ths players.. so many match winners and players with extra ordinary skills

    Saeed Anwar
    Inzamam
    Yousuf
    Younis
    Wasim
    Waqar
    Shoaib
    Saqlain
    Razzaq
    Azhar
    Afridi

They use to have too many bad days in 90s; like WC 96 qf, WC99 final.

By 2000 the bowling line-up had lost its edge. Wasim took 400 test wicket.in 2000-01 but he retired in 2003 with 414 wicket which says a lot about carry a bowler even after he was past his good till date.

Also the lack of planning by PCB(as always) brought in years of rotational captainship in 90 which continued till Inzi took over.

Add to that sub standard balls used in domestic game which mislead selectors in giving caps to any Tom,**** and harry who had one good season with bat.

Add all this up and we will have to think they achieved allot like beating Aus twice in Odi in their home series was an achievement equal to reaching final in WC, winning Asain test championship.

I dont think so! 96 team of Sri Lanka was in red hot form and 99 team of Australia was the best team of the world ever, Pakistan was No. 2 not No. 1 in 99.
2003 Australian team had left everyone behind.
However, I think we would have won 2007, 2011 and 2015 WCs if not for controversies. Before 2007, Daryl Hair incident, doping bans happened and we did not select Asim Kamal and Salman Butt for the World Cup. We lost Shoaib and Asif to bans just before the WC.
    Before 2011, spot fixing happened.
Before 2015, Ajmal was banned so these 3 WCs we would have won I believe if not controversies.
We had players like Younus and Misbah available to us in 2015 and 2011 but we couldnt win those two world cups due to bans. And we lost 2007 WC due to ban on Shoaib and Asif and non selection of Asim Kamal and Salman Butt.

That's what you call mercurial. Brilliant individual records of players but often they would not get together and win collectively.

We under achieved in 90s cus Australia was stronger than us and we were the No. 2 team of the world at that time and South Africa was also very strong at that time. Pakistan, Australia and SAfrica were the top 3 teams of the world in 90s and 00s but post 2004, Pakistan had a very strong team and Pakistan was denied success deliberately cus they knew Pakistan was the best team of the world if we had our best players available like Mohd Asif, Mohd Amir , Salman Butt, Shoaib Akhtar who all got bans and during Inzi era, we had developed a batsman as good as Inzi, Yousuf, Younus and Misbah in Asim Kamal whom we threw out for parchis faisal iqbal and shoaib malik which cost us dearly in the longer run. He could have served Pakistan cricket for long instead of people like Hafeez and Shoaib Malik and Azhar and Asad (who despite playing for so long are found wanting again and again) who have no technique to survive on difficult wickets. Asim Kamal had a proper technique unlike these farce players!! Another player of that caliber was Fawad Alam! Asim and Fawad both hail from Karachi and are gutsy lefthanders!!

That i agree with. But 96 mein Slanka had suddenly become a new force aur 99 mein Australians were led by steely Steve Waugh! 2003 mein to saari hadein par kar gayi thi Australia but 2007, 2011 aur 2015 ke World Cup icc ne Pakistan ke munh mein se nikale hein Pakistani players ko ban karke and we should have won that 2010 series against Australia in Australia specially that Sydney Test.

SL had 3-4 good players but still we lost a Test series to them, we should have dominated these teams even more, we should have also dominated more at home which we could not do.

    SL
    India
    NZ
    England
    Zimbabwe

SL beat Australia like anything in 96 WC Final. At that time, bowlers used to shiver with the thought of bowling to Jayasurya. Aravinda was a class player. They had Murali and Vaas and they were well led by Arjuna. They had some really good players in Mahanama, Tilekaratne, Attapatu. They had some talent at that time and they had emerged suddenly on world scene!! They were a surprise to everyone!!
We did won that Asian Test Championship as well so we did dominate India and Sri Lanka. Sachin played a class innings at Chennai that 136 in losing cause and then Kumble picked all 10 to win a test for India.
NZ were not as strong as they are these days. England was also mediocre at that time. Zimbabwe did not have potent bowling or batting but at one point when they had Neil Jhonson and Murray Goodwin and Flower Bros. they were doing well at that time! What a player Neil Jhonson was and Andy Flower!!

Should have won atleast 99 Test in which Wasim Akram had Langer caught behind not given by umpire. And also Sydney test 2010 which was ruined by Kamran Akmal!!

On paper; Should have had AT LEAST 1 more World cup and Should have won AT LEAST a test series in 1 of Australia or South Africa.

The harsh reality is, It was a team of absolutely incredible individuals who were all remarkable and world class in their respective aspects but just couldn't play like a team. Most played under and were nurtured by one of the most influential and greatest cricketers of all time in Imran Khan yet they still learnt nothing.

Leadership is a quality which has to be naturally embedded within you, If you don't have it in you naturally then the least you can do is command the respect of all your team mates but not for yourself. Too make them realize and understand what the badge at the front of that shirt means. Game after game. Unfortunately, That was the only vital part missing for the Pakistan team of the 90's and early 2000's.

In 1999 I think Pakistan had the best bowling line up that ever played international cricket.

    Wasim,Shoaib,Saqlain,Razzaq,Afridi, Azhar, Mushtaq and Waqar.

Failing to win a the world cup with this attack was criminal!

So the ICC asked Akhtar and Asif to take Nandrolone prior to the 2007 World Cup? The ICC asked Asif, Amir and Butt to spot fix in 2010? And finally, the ICC asked Chuckmal to chuck all his life?

Are you a troll? Or just extremely silly?
