Bollywood director, Anurag Kashyap savagely trolled actor Amitabh Bachchan for his silence on Citizenship Amendment Act, reported Indian media. Bachchans neither condemned the discriminatory CAA nor objected to the brutal use of force against the protestors in Delhi and other Indian states.

Anurag Kashyap, who is being viciously targeted for dissenting CAB and the BJP-led government, censured Amitabh Bachchan who tweeted to extend early New Year’s greetings to his followers.

Amitabh Bachchan wrote: “Only a few days left for the arrival of the new year. But, no need to worry. It’s only a matter of 19-20.”

Kashyap shot back at Bachchan and wrote that: “This time, it’s not a matter of 19 and 20 sir. The difference this time is huge. For now, you take care of your health. You had done your bit in the 70s (by taking on the evils in films as an angry young man). Since then, we are carrying the real Bachchan within us. This time, we will deal with everyone whether that is Gabbar or Shakal or Lion.”

Meanwhile, it is noteworthy to recall that Gabbar, Shakal, and Lion were famous on-screen villains in the 1970s.

The same Amitabh Bachchan who has been mummed about the fierce assault on the Jamia Milia University students and AMU in Uttar Pradesh was an extremely vocal critic of Manmohan Singh-led Congress government.

To deflect the backlash on him for his silence on the brutal assault CAB he shared a quote on his Twitter account. The post read: “Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them .. and you have their shoes !!”

While the silence of Khans can be attributed to their fear of being derided by ultra-nationalistic groups, what justifies the silence of Bachchans on the glaringly controversial CAB and use of government’s resort to brutal assaults to suppress the dissent. Does Amitabh Bachchan’s silence imply for the hidden bigotry and disdain for minorities, particularly Muslims?

Why is that pleb a bar for moral expectations? He is a bigot and no different to the RSS eejits.

I've heard stories of his bakwaas during the Kargil war (a lot of Pakistanis, being the hypocrites they are, still love him and his Bollywood ilk), yet he is expected to speak out in favour of Muslims/against these bigoted policies? Please.

Same goes for the ghulaam Khans also (again, whom a lot of Pakistanis would happily lick the feet of). 'Those who remain in india/oppose Pakistan, will spend their lives having to prove their loyalty to India.' Guess who said this...

So who has spoken out so far? They would rather protect their careers than stand up to tyrants... Bachan probably has inherent biases against muslims which he probably confuses witb nationalism.

Stopped reading at "Discriminatory" CAA. Only Patriot could have created this thread. :D

Moreover, why is it mandatory for someone to have an opinion on everything?

welcome back @Mohan..despite saying bu where going into a state of permanent self inposed exile! :rolleyes:back on rhe point in question why you put 'discriminatory' in inverted commas? We have a fascist government and a policy that deliberately targets a particular group.... if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.... bjp sympathisers and nationalists call it a horse.

You're not dealing with a reasonable human being. Get the beat sources in the world and he'll say they have an anti india biase.... some twitter meme or third world garbage news organisation says anything in line with state propaganda and he'll start singing their praises.

Where are those "International Media is Gospel" preachers now?

BBC calls these scums "militants", not terrorists.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-asia-52029571

Where's UN? Where's OIC? They squirm when even a mosquito dies in India, now where are they? Which Imam has called this unislamic? Where are the Indian liberandus now that our friends here proudly quote? Barkha Dutt, Rajdeep Sardesai, Raveesh Kumar, Arundhati Roy, Shehla Rashid - not a squeak from them as expected.

This, my friends, is the real face of bigotry.

There are less than 1000 Sikhs in Afghanistan, and these Islamists could not tolerate even that miniscule number. So eliminate them infidels, perfectly fine because Islam allows it. And when these poor fellows run for their lives to take shelter in India, then oppose movements like CAA so that they have nowhere to go.

Disgraceful and pathetic to put it mildly.

So now the BBC is a good source? PS scum is plural.
Kinda comical you get outraged over one form of religious extremism while on your very previous post justify it. Village idiot.

Dude shamelessly uses one atrocity to justify another. just a continuation of this guys false equivalences and whataboutisms.....

dude just shut up already. Spare us yoir faux outrage.

It's discriminatory on the basis of religion. Anyone that says otherwise is either a blind supporter of right-wing religious extremism or just clueless and need to pick up a dictionary. I could post a Law Book for Dummies if someone want it.

Looking forward to India plunging deeper into pseudo-intellectualism and more intolerance that's only going to bite them in the ass a decade or two down the road.
