After a killer week so far of some massive seismic changes on the political landscape, things that have been expected for a long time, disappointments with delays, finally it seems the promise of accountability that the current government was elected on seems to be finally taking its head above water. So far this week:

    Zardari b Imran
    Hamza Sharif lbw b Imran
Altaf Hussein c Scotland Yard b Imran

but we all know how the system works, we know how the enemies of Pakistan will be working over time with well funded and self preservation ally motivated traitors within the country, so who knows if these wickets will remain fallen.

Today though, IK announced a high power commission with a one point agenda to find out what happened to the money.

Asdtonishgly strong and impassioned speech answering much of the bs spouted by the opposition in their attempts to distract the corruption references flying around everywhere, by trying to sabotage the attempts to stop the whole country going bankrupt.

there must be a lot of full pampers and soiled pantaloons and shalwars tonight. interesting to see that despite the majority of the speech being about corruption details, the opposition reactions to it dont reference any of those allegations or facts at all.

this is exactly what the people were waiting for, a possibly pivotal moment for this government:

klasra and sateen are back - here's some of their investigative work on what exactly is being investigated here. with all the barking and noise and distraction from the opposition, the reality of what these people have done is being forgotten. worth a listen for a refresher:

Thanks for not disappointing me. Always remembered you as an unbiased intelligent poster.

FYI, When NAB presented their last probe to Parliament, the corruption list was topped by Army Officers and then Judges and then the Politicians. If we do have a fair commission, we should be able to see the magnitude of the corruption these Generals manage to do despite them being 'Pure Passionate People'..

A certain ex COAS just recently bought an Island near Australia and a current General has his 2 sons studying abroad. There's more, but since this is public news, there's not a lot of fear of being kidnapped from my house at night on writing it down.

My grand father served as a colonel in the army. I have a lot of kissay to share since we still attend 'military' family gathering but i would leave it for some other day.

the point is simple, neither a serving brigadier's 18 year old son can afford a Porsche in houston neither a civilian minister's son can afford to drive an audi in islamabad. Sab kaala paisa hai. Not just the whole system, the moral values of our society is corrupt. So it is naive to believe that military mein badmaashi nahi hogi. But we have to be balanced here, atleast the military is united.

well it looks like this commission is starting its work, lets see how it pans out, second referral for the new unit:

ISLAMABAD: The high-powered debt probe commission, formed by Prime Minister Imran Khan, has received a new case against the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

The case, related to financial irregularities during the PPP tenure, has been sent to the commission by the National Highway Authority (NHA).

The NHA claimed that packages worth billions were given for Larkana and Multan, which were embezzled during the PPP government.

As per details provided by the NHA, the contractors who were given the tenders of the package, turned out to be involved in fake bank accounts case.

A day earlier, Prime Minister’s debt inquiry commission received its first case to probe against Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Ahsan Iqbal.

The case of alleged corruption against the PML-N stalwart was sent by Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed on Wednesday.

Saeed sent the case to the commission along with all documentary proofs, claiming that Iqbal incurred the loss of about Rs50-70 billion to the national kitty.

The minister has relayed that in 2013, the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former federal minister Ahsan Iqbal signed a contract for the construction of the Multan-Sukkur motorway with the company of Javed Sadiq.
