And I expected Australia to make the saint call and not pick either of Smith and Warner.

I wonder how it would impact their dressing room after the recent perfect results the team produced in India/UAE.

Feel bad for Handscomb, I was certain he would be in the 15.

Now if Carey gets injured there is no replacement keeper and Warner isnt good at keeping

I think handscomb missed out because they have too many players in middle order since khwaja will also play in middle and Marsh as well. Then they have smith, maxwell and stoinis as well. Cant bombard a squad of 15 with all middle order batsmen. You can carry only 4 extra players after from 11. Unfair but understandable.

Anyways this will most porbably be their starting line up

    Warner
    Finch
    Khwaja
    Smith
    Marsh
    Maxwell
    Stoinis
    Carey
    Starc
    Cummins
    Zampa

Even now its difficult to get the fourth pacer maybe marsh will be dropped for coulter nile

    Anyways a very strong team.

Middle order looks weak. They will be banking Rohit, Dhawan & Kohli.

Haaaaa, be thankful we have Inzi.

No Pant, Not one of them express fast bowler has been selected.

Terrible selection. Ofcourse you are going to select Kohli, Dhoni, Rohit, Shikhar but then imo India has better options then Bhuvi and Karthik also 3 spinners in England is an overkill.

For Australia selection I would have had Hazlewood, Behrendorf is a rubbish bowler.

Stupid not to select Hazlewood, this Jason bloke is rubbish other than that the rest pick themselves tbh.

Just 3 pacers + Pandya? Very poor squad combination, no depth.

    Anyway

    Dhawan
    Sharma
    Rahul
    Kohli
    Dhoni
    Jadhav
    Pandya
    Yadav
    Chahal
    Shami
    Bumrah

Big fan of Bhuvi in England, would find a way to get him into the XI somehow

Tests in England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa are not the same as Odis in the same countries.

Example is Trent Bridge Test pitch compare to the Odi run rest pitch, compare Centurion Test pitch to odi pitch. All one day pitches in every country follow a similar trend, especially in SENA they are brown, even pace and bounce. Arguably it's harder to bat in UAE then away because of uneven bounce, ball stopping in the pitch.

It will be a hot summer as well.

They selected 3 front-line spinners + Jadhav and 3 front-line pacers + Pandya, that's a very poor team combination even if the world cup was in India.

Pakistan selected Gul + Wahab + Junaid + Akhtar + Razzaq even in the 2011 WC

Even India selected 4 full time pacers

I was talking about Bhuvi selection, they had 7 express pacers but decided to go for Bhuvi thinking the ball will do stuff when In reality it won't.

Bhuvi is a good pick. He will do the same role Amir will do for Pakistan.

They are just a fast bowler short.

Nah mate Amir is on a different level, Bhuvi is a rubbish bowler no offence.

they are both mid-130 new ball bowlers who bowl tight lines and take the occasional wicket

Amir - 60 wickets in 50 matches at an average of 32.85 and economy of 4.78
Bhuvi - 118 wickets in 105 matches at an average of 35.66 and economy of 5.01

Amir is better of course - but not "on a different level"

Their team will depend a lot on top 3, Bumrah & Kumar & spinning duo.

Also, they will rely heavily on Pandya as lower order big hitter, not sure how much Dhoni can contribute.

And where is Ashwin? Why Jadeja is preferred over Ashwin (because of his batting ability)?

Indeed, looks very much CT squad to me too (really hope results will be like CT too :D).

Also, I wouldnt be amaze if their top 3/4 win many games and if fail in big games, then their middle order will struggle.

On a second thought - this is a terrible world cup squad

    No Pant
    No Rayudu
    One fast bowler missing

They might still win the world cup because their team is so strong - but they could have done so much better

    Pant exclusion is a shocker.

Can already visualize Indian anchors whining after their quarter final exit and screaming about selecting stone age era keepers Dhoni and Karthik ahead of yuva khilari Pant

As Waqar would say, I am hearing their loud sounds... in my ears

From the tweets, it seems only Warner has done well. Smith has been struggling I guess.

If im not wrong, Warner is the highest runs scorer in IPL. Smith was never a great t20 batsman. His batting style suits odis n tests. He wasnt even part of Aus t20 team from long time.

Reason behind not including another pacer id that india play 2 spinners in odis plus pandya will also play n jadeja.

Think they have a very strong and able squad.

Pant hasnt really done justice to chances given to him. Karthik is more solid n capable
