YK now just 194 runs away from Grame Smith in the all time scorers list in test matches which will put him in 13th place.

Asad Shafiq closing in on Sadiq Mohammad in the Pakistani list. Shoaib Malik should overtake Salman Butt in the next test match if he plays.

YK now 149 runs behind Greame Smith in the overall list and still the only current batsman from pakistan in that list

Hafeez has now gone past Ijaz Ahmed in the Pakistani list
Asad Shafiq now has more test runs than Sadiq Mohammad and has Kamran Akmal in his sight.

Shoaib Malik ends his test career ahead of Salman Butt.
Sarfraz Ahmed continues to rise up the list.

Our next series is in Nz and then Aus .. unless you want YK to fail miserably on those tours.

Its been a while but Younis Khan will finally get the chance to go past Graeme Smith in the overall list.

Can Misbah have a decent enough series and go past Zaheer Abbas in the Pakistani list? Will take a phenomenal effort for him to do so.

A decent series for Azhar Ali will also see him jump a few places. 626 runs in the series will see him go as high as 9th in the list past the likes of Anwar, Hanif and a few others

Same applies to Hafeez although he will need to really pull off something really extraordinary to get in to the top 10

Regardless, going by the record of all teams in England since 2008, we better not get our hopes too high.

Younis Khan flew past Smith after that fantastic double hundred. Moves in to 13th spot with 9456 runs. Can he become the first Pakistani to 10k?

Azhar Ali jumped up to 13th spot in the Pakistani list, going past Mohammad Hafeez, Asif Iqbal and Mushtaq Mohammad. Not far off from Imran Khan in 12th.

Asad Shafiq also jumped up a few more spots going past Wasim Raja, Aamer Sohail and Rameez Raja.

Another 100 runs in this series which is looking pretty likely will see Azhar Ali also go past both Saeed Anwar and Muddasar Nazar

Asad Shafiq has gone up one spot in the Pakistani list, going past Wasim Akram.

Sarfraz Ahmed crosses 1500 test runs and passes Qasim Umar in the list

I wont agree with it. One is closing in on 10k runs, 1 century behind Gavaskar and Lara, broken all sorts of batting records for Pakistan, to my knowledge averages high in every innings of a test match. Better than Inzi and Miandad. I will be as stubborn as their fans regarding this and shun any stat presented to me.

My post was tongue in cheek by the way if you have not realized I am the biggest YK fan on this forum

Iam a big fan of YK but there is no way he is better than javed miandad even though I have never seen miandad bat live.

You have to remember miandad was a great when there were countless great batsmen and bowlers around him and to make a name for himself among them is a great cause.

Yk became great when there is literally no great batsman or bowler around. Tell me how many world class bowlers are there in test format ?? Steyn ?? Who else is really top top quality ? Guys like starc, Boult etc aren't established world class bowlers.

Miandad was great of his era there is no doubt about that and I watched him play. Younis is great of his era. And when it comes to Pakistan Cricket Younis is all time best because of his achievements.

You can't take away anything from Younis because you can't see any top class bowlers in current era. He can play whatever or whoever is put against him. This is not his fault. He will be remembered as best batsman Pakistan had produced until someone comes and top his achievements.

If I remember correctly he scored one century in sA and failed in rest of 5 innings. His record against mcgrath isnt that pleasing either.. yeah he played murali very well.

So you think YK is better than Miandad ?

Javed Miandad also struggled against the best of his era West Indian bowling. He averaged under 30 against WI.

    Talent : Miandad

    Achievements : Younus Khan

In this modern day and age people look at achievements and YK is certainly leagues ahead of any Pakistani Test batsman in that regard. He is surpassing some of the worlds best in half the amount of games. If that does not garner him respect from people then surely they have some sort of agenda because it is hard to fathom how a guy who is now one less century away from Brian Lara can still be compared to players from his own country that he has left behind 700 + runs ago now.

In tests, runs matter, centuries matter, averages matter, match winnings matter. YK leads all of those from Pakistan in this format to my knowledge.

Averages 50+ away from Pakistan, neutral like UAE and outside both Pakistan and UAE. Has a double hunsdred against all Test Nations barring NZ, SA and WI.
Averages high in every innings of a test match, surpassed Bradman in consecutive 90 to 100 conversions. Only second behind Bradman in terms of 100 to game ratio.

Hard to understand what it is exactly he needs to do to get recognition from our fans

YK: Greatest Pakistani Test batsman ever,
    period.

We Pakistanis tend to romanticise the past and exaggerate achievements of past players. Younis has no doubt earned his place as the greatest test batsman to have emerged from Pakistan.
