Normanby Hall have been hit by the news that their overseas professional, Sohaib Maqsood, has been called back to Pakistan for two weeks training with the Test squad, before joining the tour to the West Indies. While happy that one of their players is on the verge of international honours, the timing could not have been worse for a club already enduring the most testing time in their history. Effectively left homeless by ground problems primarily created by last year's horrendous weather, Hall are playing every game away from Cricket Lane this summer. Hafeez. Malik was dropped for Afridi apparently and Hafeez they were saying may be dropped from ODIs.
I feel for these guys . It must be the best day of their lives when they get called up and then they get to go abroad . But not getting picked in the playing 11 must be so depressing . The likelihood is he's going to be the water boy .
These guys are not actually selected to be played in the playing 11. They are selected to give them a chance to have a look at the International atmosphere, the pressure what seniors are taking, how gameplans are done etc. It's more like Internship for these youngsters.
And to see how we're ruining ourself, the team by seniors sucking up to each other. Laanat hai aisi internship par.
This is his profile: http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/player/43266.html Doesn't seem like anything that special tbh
Saj not an allrounder, a batsman who bowls a bit (and has done so increasingly lately, but still a batsman at this stage)
Average of 51 with a sr of 98 is nothing special? I might be wrong but i doubt there are many players even in domestic cricket who have those kind of stats in List A cricket.
He's been injured a few times thats why in a career of nearly 10 years hasn't played 50 matches in either format. But he seems to be making up for lost time as he's improved in both forms in the past year.
The guys played just a handful of games. He may have had a few lucky innings. I tend to look at FC and see what a player is like according to that. He's only averaging 40ish in that.
Doesn't have an inflated average, only 2 not outs in 29 innings. 43 isnt that bad in FC, but no one is asking for him to be in the Test side
He's an all rounder and his stats reflect that, hope he gets a decent run if selected, not discarded after a couple of games.
