What is wrong in that? He is a free man and free to celebrate it or not.

When Imran was making all the hue & cry for almost 4 years it was acceptable? When he burned the utility bills and called for civil disobedience it was fine? When he asked people to send money through Hundi and not proper banking channels it was fine? Why was he not called a traitor then? Is not celebrating Independence Day hurting the country or asking expatriates to use illegal means to send in remittances?

Your patwarism and grudge has hit a new low.

    1. No one really bothered about IKs call.
    2. Everyone even his own party leaders like asad umar on tv said that it was a wrong decision, he was criticised by everyone for it and rightly so.
    3. Calling for bycotting independence day which is just a symbolic day but implies that you are against independence of the country.. but anything and everything that suits your bughaz.

You have become total embarrassment. Whats next you are going to defend ?

I am satisfied with my self whatever I think right I will defend it. And why are you saying fall again and again? I was never riding on a high horse that I will fall. And know one thing there is nothing personal in a leader's life. He chose this life for himself so he should be prepared for scrutiny on any level. He calls himself happily Sadiq & Ameen while the truth is he is anything but not Ameen and not at all Sadiq.

So the politician who has been enjoying a comfortable and luxurious life for free for so many decades only because of Pakistan and its people, who has been the Chair of Kashmir Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee, Leader of Opposition, and what not and what not, ONLY because of Pakistan, will not celebrate the Independence Day because he lost an election. What an ungrateful parasite.

Deny it all you want, but this is a fair point.

Not celebrating Independence Day hurts Pakistan way less than all what IK did or at least called for.

On top of that our Judicial system had become a joke. Selective justice. Different laws for different people. You are not allowed to criticize the Army. This is all fake freedom to be brutally honest.

    @Don Corleone

No one really celebrate independence day, its a symbolic event that Pakistan is a free country now and not under India or England.

Yes, there are few issues but overall majority are living a free life and its just to remember that.

We could have agreed with Fazlurehman if his intentions were true and for poor people or minorities who suffer in some area but all he is bothered about his seat. I bet you make him chairman of kashmir committe and all will be rosy for him.

    Guy is a big hypocrite.

I am sure Fazl-ur-Rehman is saying this because of Pakistan's lack of resources and not because he have lost the election:D

Not surprising. He cares more about his own perks than the actual country.

Anyone who (in any way) defends this, is...well its very sad.

Apparently this laanti used to spy on his father (you know, the same guy who opposed Pakistan and worked against Muslim League...)...so why wouldnt he happily throw aside Pakistan for personal gain.

The day diesel dies, will not be a sad day for Pakistan.

He wants to "bycotting" only because he had to vacant ministers enclave after 13 years, with no position in Gov this time around. Offer him a ministry with all the perks and he's be the first one to celebrate independence day come 14th Aug.

One can only pity on those who tries to defend Maulana's stance...

I have some friends who study in deobandi madrassahs in the UK. Without exception they all begin to hold anti creation of Pakistan views.

None that I could identify. I just found it odd that they all started opposing the two state theory, perhaps it's to do with the legacy of many deobandi mullahs.

Interestingly the deobandi/wahabi nexus is destabilising Pakistan but generally deobandi 'ulema' stay quiet in India.

Hence why it doesn't surprise me that this Mullah suddenly wants to boycott independence day.

Before I get accused of some sort of sectarianism I assure you that isn't the case.

Point 3 hits the nail on the head perfectly. People are free to celebrate not but to publically call for a boycott against a symbolic day is a big slap on the face to the many who made sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan.

Man its too late now, because I use to have a GF who was deobandi, could've ask her more on this subject.

I understand what you're saying here, but then question comes in mind, why Maulana haven't done it before, specially when he was enjoying perks as parliamentarian for more than a decade? Perhaps he will chance his stance if a 'wazarat' if thrown at him. And if not, then will reveal more his true colors.

Anyways, these days humiliation has been dished out to him from left, right and center in talk shows.

Imagine to live in a country where people are beaten to death for eating beef then you will realize what people are celebrating.

Go to the country where you're target due to your religious believes, then you will get an idea what they're celebrating.

Take a look at how many were able to reach to Pakistan after partition and how many were killed on their way, then you will realize what celebration is all about.

Try to spend few days in a country like Myanmar, Palestine and Syria, Or in region like Kashmir then you will get answer of what is the celebration of 14th August.

Yes, there are many crisis and challenges lie ahead to the country, but living in a free country is no leas than a blessing.

Ofcourse we cannot. But fazlu has been using Pakistan government perks paid by Pakistani public tax money, and he has the nerve to say in public to not celebrate the independence day.

Lol I doubt your deobandi GF studied in a madrassah. I have found this amongst masrassah students not ordinary people.

Fazlu is fat and with a beard. Although it seems very superficial to judge a person on this...I've found that overweight Mullahs know which side their bread is buttered. Keep them fat and they will sing your praises.

Remember our Nabi(saw) was an athletic man who had a flat stomach and would sometimes not eat for many days due to hunger. When I see a fat Mullah my hypocrite radar goes into overdrive.

Of course not all fat mullahs are like this but it's worth bearing in mind.
