The winning team was close to meeting defeat as Qalandars managed to rout wickets in the earlier overs. However, it was Misbah-ul-Haq's measured and experienced batting on the pitch that scored the required runs for the Zalmi's, alogn with a firm partnership with captain Darren Sammy.
On the other hand, Lahore Qalandars delivered a slow innings suppressing under pressure by Peshawar Zalmi as they amplified the strains by taking frequent wickets bringing the runs score to a slow pace after Fakhar Zaman and Anton Devcich led Qalandars to an aggressive start which backfired.
