Still remember that moment when Shoaib clean bowled Tendulkar for a duck with a reversing swinging bamboozling yorker. He will always be missed.

He was a very promising young cricketer in the start of his career.
He was also physically, a natural born sportsman.
Very Fit, lean, agile and a quick mover (unlike Hafeez or Haris Sohail or Sharjeel type players)

However, he couldn’t keep himself away from the very ugly internal team politics which is a classical trait of Pakistani cricket, and it’s very hard to avoid it once you become part of the national team.

And second, he was probably not handled perfectly by PCB either.
He was on and off with the team for the last few years and never had a precise and defined role.

I think his ODI end was a sad one.
He could’ve potentially achieved a lot more, but Pakistan’s expected ouster from WC before the semi painted an even gloomier cloud on his first ball dismissal in the last ODI innings of his career.
I think he should’ve been given a farewell game against Bangla. Or may be they offered him but he refused? Who knows?

I personally liked him even though he wasn’t in the best form.

Looking forward to see him in action in T20s.

    All the best Shoaibi.

I think we are talking about Malik and not Akhter, if I am not mistaken?

He is still here for t20s. No reason to get overly sad.

He was mediocre - merdiocre players aren’t supposed to play 10 years never mind 20. Quite an achievement. Probably the greatest sporting politician the world has seen
