Irfan has been selected in the XI, let's see how he does. Best of luck to him.
His first 2 deliveries are 90mph
Damn! I'm impressed. Unexpected pace and control.
I called him before he left and told him not to bowl short as his deliveries will lift naturally. I said bowl fuller between middle and outside off and no-one will dominate you. Plus i told him beware of bowling down leg against right handers.
I hope he's fit enough for long spells. He was really breathing heavily in his 2nd over.
3rd over on the bounce and iv got to say i am very impressed!
Good going...I like it.
Good going, stage doesn't get bigger than this, and I'm impressed.
Rewarded with the big wicket of Kohli
Must say the pace he generates from such a short run-up and the quick action is reminiscent of Wasim Akram.
I had no idea he could bowl 90+
Hope to see more of him in the future. He can be deadly with more coaching and practice.
Was pleasantly surprised by his pace. Very well bowled.
Very impressed by him today. He can be deadly on bowling friendly pitches with this pace & bounce.
That staredown against Gambhir also brought back memories of Akram!
Loved the speed he's got now
He was bowling at 88-89mph in England but they attacked him and Afridi took him off denting his confidence. Irfan should have beeb playing for the last two years
Gambhir couldn't play him. Credit to Rahane for playing him with bravery.......... He really made kohli look like a fool
He's pretty scary running in too, Kohli tried to go one on one vs him and paid the price.
He is a bowwwwwla... I liked the way he bowled.
Happy day for Feather and Mercenary
First Irfan and now Malik
Damn I missed his bowling!, he was bowling 90mph?!
I think his first over was all 90mph. His fastest of the day was 147kph/91mph but that was a bit of a full toss
Yup, first up served a 145+kph and continued to bowl 140+, line and length bothered the batsmen too.
easily the best fast bowler of the world at present
his first delivery was 145 then he continued with two 140s, most of the deliveries he bowled were in the 140+ rage.. Even Waseem Akram was surprised by his improvement. I remember before the match, Akram said that how Irfan bowls at 135+, but he was astonished when he saw him bowling 140+
The best in the world?
How? What? Not even the best in the match by a long way :lols
Please dont ruin the thread.
If Irfan could bowl like this in the second T20, i just hope that the team management makes an effort to add IRfan in the ODI team squad...
True. He should be added to ODI team.
Imagine Irfan bowling at Perth :lol
Very pleasing to watch. Much improved from when we saw him in England. I hope he's included in both ODI squads for India and SA.
He was very good today. Got the ball to swing and also generated good pace
Was watching this with the extended family and none of them knew about Irfan. Told them the whole story about him as how he was discovered and then he went on to play for Pakistan. I wasnt really surprised to see him bowl well, if any of you saw that clips of him bowling in the domestic test matches Merc posted when cricistan initially launched, you could see he made batsmen hop. Also, he can bowl some great yorkers aswell which we didnt saw any in this match. It was a sight and everyone was pleased that we finally have someone who could threaten the batsmen like that, since akhtar, and somewhat aamir.
He should be looking to get better in terms of fitness. The 'trainer' should be in business
the only thing dat worries ind batting is bounce n we saw how poor dey looked against irfan n im so v glad to see finally we get a bowler wid lot of potiential
Should he be on the plane to South Africa?
I know it's just the start of his career in a way, but our fast bowling is in a bad state.
no need to rush things up, lets see how he does in the second t20, and if he does good, maybe add him the odi squad for india series.
I actually got a little worried when he slipped on the pitch trying to field for himself.
Hope he's okay.
Absolutely, even in ODIs I wanna see his fitness level (possible longer spells).
I was surprised with his extra pace and control, he troubled their batsmen who were never in control when hitting shots.
A promising return, well done Irfan!
