While Adnan is doing a fine job in test cricket, We are still struggling to find a decent keeper batsman for the ODI team. Names like Jamal Anwar, Gohar Ali and others have been thrown out while some want Kamran back . However most people have over looked Rizwan and Hasan. These seem to have the best batting stats out of all the younger keepers we have.
Mohammed Rizwan: Only 20 years old, Averages 39 with the bat in list A cricket and 44 in first class cricket.

Mohammed Hassan: Averages 38 in 27 FC matches, with 5 50s and 3 100s(with one being a double ton)

SO what do you guys think? should one of these guy be given ago in our next ODI series or should we go for another option?

Both have impressive stats. Saw abit of Mohammad Hasan in a recent charity game and he was tidy behind the stumps and had a compact technique. I'd still wait to see how they do next season, and if they're batting stats remain around that mark either of them will be deserving options.

True but the only thing i see going against them is that from the stats they both seem to be proper batsman, however it seems like we are looking for a wicket-keepers than can slog(this is one of the main reason why most people want Ahmed to be dropped)

Yeah we need a slogger, unfortunately. Sarfraz is a good batsman but there's no room for him up the order.

We have to look out for an avg of 30-32 that has an SR of over 90.

Lol good luck finding someone like that, IMO we will be better of getting a proper batsman and moving him up the order instead of asking him to come down the order and slog. Maybe we can have the WK bat in the top three and have Hafeez drop down the order.

lol, Hafeez can play as a specialist bowler. His batting is awful.

But yeah that's not a bad idea if we can find a keeper that can open.

But then what do we do about Nasir Jamshed, Azhar Ali, Ahmed Shehzad...

Give Sarfraz one last chance and open with him. Surely he can't do worse than Hafeez?! :p, plus it gives him more of a chance to bat like a proper 'batsmen' as he is referred to.

I always thought Safraz Ahmed would be better suited to test cricket

You want this untested, unknown keeper at the most important position? And not to mention that Azhar has an awful strike rate, and this new keeper will also be trying to prove himself so he will be playing quite slow.

You need someone who's established, experienced, and not afraid to play his shots at that position - the one and only Umar Akmal (but Asad Shafiq would work too).

    Umar at 6 :facepalm

I get your point but it's better than putting the keeper down the order and expecting him to hit the big shots from start of his innings. iZeeshan

Then we're looking for the wrong keepers.
