Squad: Fakhar Zaman, Ahmed Shehzad, Haris Sohail, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, Hussain Talat, Sarfraz Ahmed (c and wk), Fahim Ashraf, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Muhammad Amir, Hasan Ali, Rahat Ali, Usman Shanwari, Shaheen Shah Afridi

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on Monday (June 4), announced the T20I squad for the upcoming two-match series against Scotland. All players from the West Indies series have been retained, with the exception of Babar Azam, who fractured his left hand while batting in the opening Test at Lord's, against England. The injured Babar has been replaced by Haris Sohail.

The national selection committee, chaired by Inzamam ul Haq, announced the squad after consultation with skipper Sarfraz Ahmed and coach Mickey Arthur, PCB said in a statement.

The T20Is are scheduled to be played on June 12 and 13.

Should win this series 2-0 really.

I would have sent a completely young team and given the regulars some rest.

      Fakhar C
      Farhan
      Talat
      Rizwan Wk
      Asif Ali
      Shoaib Malik
      Yamin
      Faheem Ashraf
      Usama Mir
      Shaheen
      Umaid Asif

Bench: Rameez Raja Jr, Bilal Asif, Khushdil Shah, Waqas Maqsood.

I would rest them two as they are two established players now and there is no point in them getting an injury against Scotland.

That's good and all but a team with SEVEN new players?
I would cut this number down to five.

It was never happening but this is just my thought.

Also on the Shadab and Hassan topic these guys need to be made into good Test and ODI players rather than world beaters in T20s because there are lots of good T20 players and Pakistan are simply the best in T20s anyways.

I added Fakhar because I see him as a future Pakistan captain.

      A guy can dream, right?[emoji16][emoji16]

I agree. In fact, i would like to see vastly if not completely different sides in all formats, with different captains preferably.

Much would depend on how he performs as a batsman when/if he is made captain. Some guys just can't handle the pressure of being the captain you know?

Ahmed Shehzad and Haris Sohail are not T20 players.

Agree on Haris, he has a sr of 107 in t20's.
But Shehzad has an average of 29, sr 128, 33 fifties with 4 centuries in t20's.
How can he be not a t20 player?

      Checkout his game.

I dont look too much at stats, because it tells what you want to paint on wall, not what you need to put in the concrete mixture. And this guy Ahmed knows every well how to manipulate stats and play selfish innings. The moment we find a decent openers, he wouldn't be seen near the team.

Its a myth that he's an aggressive players. He's a chicken.

Oh, i agree 100% on the chicken bit.

Its just that i wanted a accumulator along with Fakher to open.

I hear you, but let me given an example to make self clear.

Hypothetically speaking, you have to opt in between Shajeel and Selfie to partner Fakhar. Who would you pick :D?

I will go for the former.

Also, I don't know why Mukhtar Ahmed wasn't given more chance.

      In subcontinent? YES, ABSOLUTELY.
In ENG, AUS, NZ, SA? NO.

Because he just hasn't worked to improve his leaving and off side play.

Mukhtar? Simple......his parchi was not meaty enough.

Improve his leaving and off side play?

We're discussing T20 here, for which there are flat pitch all over the world.

You don't leave balls in T20, you attack on opponents.

Did you want watch Shajeel's T20 hitting in ENG and AUS (he never had chance to play in NZ and SA).

If Mukhtar had a parchi, then either he would've been playing now or had played many. Neither is true.

Mukhtar was dropped and rightly so. Too many technical flaws in his game. However someone like Sahibzada could’ve been given a chance here.

Haris did well in the T20’s in NZ, I wouldn’t mind him opening in the absence of Babar, actually. But this was the perfect chance to try out Farhan.

Shehzad has found himself in the squad again which is very strange but he's meeting his match in Scotland so no worries.

Kind of surprised they've gone with a full strength team rather than trying new players. Guess it is also to do with enjoying the mahol of UK for most of the players.
