Shaheen Afridi should be selected in place of Amir. Amir should be given a rest in this easy series.

I would rather prefer Imam ul Haq over Hafeez but Hafeez can bowl. Imam ki jaga Iftikhar Ahmed ko select karna chahye tha cus he can bowl like Hafeez.

Shaheen should have been selected in place of Amir. Amir needed rest and it was perfect opportunity to rest him against Zim and try out young pacers like Shaheen and Shinwari!!

You will drop Harris Sohail from odi team based on performance in 2 t20s? T20s should not be used to judge a player's performance or potential in test or odi cricket. Performance in odi cricket can be used to judge a player's performance in t20s though!!

By judging your conversation i get the feeling this 11 should play according to you:

    1. Fakhar Zaman
    2. Imam ul Haq
    3. Babar Azam
    4. Sarfraz
    5. Hafeez
    6. Asif Ali
    7. Shadab
    8. Fahim
    9. Amir
    10. Hassan
    11. Junaid
All of them except Hafeez will play at No. 5. Shoaib Malik at this stage can not be dropped,. When he will fail in upcoming series against Aus, SA and NZ, then he might get dropped and Hafeez might take his place in the middle order! But not now!

Harare, July 10 (TNS): The Pakistan cricket team was stopped from travelling to Bulawayo due to security concerns with the team currently stranded in Harare, sports website reported on Tuesday.

The players’ luggage and other items have been transported via bus to the city, however, the players, who were supposed to travel by air, have been told to stay in Harare due to the ‘non-availability of hotel rooms’ — this is the official explanation for the delay.

Pakistan team’s security officer Colonel (retd) Azam has travelled to Bulawayo to access the situation and the team is expected to travel to Bulawayo on Thursday.

General elections are set to take place in Zimbabwe on July 30 and the security situation is not ideal in the country. On June 23, there was a blast in the White City Stadium in Bulawayo during a presidential rally where two people were killed and 49 others were injured.

That brought the recently-concluded Tri-Series in danger of being carried out with Australia voicing their concern over the security situation.

However, after assurances from ZC, the series went on with Pakistan emerging victorious.

The Men in Green next face Zimbabwe in a five-match ODI series which is expected to take place in Bulawayo and, according to sources, Pakistani players have asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to ask their Zimbabwean counterparts — Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) — to shift matches to Harare from Bulawayo.

However, the PCB has informed players that due to a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), it won’t be possible.

CT final wali position perfect hai uske liye but yeh baat Mickey Arthur aur Waqar Younus jaise bewaqoof coaches ko samajh nahi aati!! They learn from experiment whereas common man who watches cricket and follows cricket can actually tell without any experiment! Jis tarha Pakistani awaam nawaz sharif zardari aur altaf hussain ko vote daalte aaye hein usi tarha yeh coaches nakaara hein!!

Major blow for Zim as Mire ruled out of Pakistan ODI series

T20I tri-series at Harare Sports Club.

Two days earlier, he had plundered a brilliant 94 – the highest score by a Zimbabwe batsman in T20I cricket – against Pakistan.

Zimbabwe physiotherapist Anesu Mupotaringa said Mire will be out of action for at least three weeks.

Mupotaringa explained: “He will be out for at least three weeks as he concentrates on physiotherapy rehabilitation which aims to speed up healing and make sure the tear heals without tight scar tissue formation.”

Apart from Mire, the hosts will also miss the services of seamer Kyle Jarvis, who is out for at least six weeks after he fractured his right thumb while fielding during the triangular series.

In the absence of the duo, Zimbabwe will be banking on the experience of captain Hamilton Masakadza, Elton Chigumbura, Chamu Chibhabha, Malcolm Waller and the returning Tendai Chatara when they take on Pakistan in the five-match ODI series.

Peter Moor, Tarisai Musakanda and Brian Chari will be eager to impress with the bat, while pace bowler Blessing Muzarabani will be expected to have a big say with the ball, alongside spinners Tendai Chisoro and Wellington Masakadza.

Former Zimbabwe U19 captain Liam Roche, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe and Ryan Murray have been included in the squad and are in line for their debuts.

The ODI series gets underway on Friday at Queens Sports Club, with the rest of the matches scheduled for 16, 18, 20 and 22 July at the same venue.

Zimbabwe ODI squad: Hamilton Masakadza (capt), Brian Chari, Tendai Chatara, Chamu Chibhabha, Elton Chigumbura, Tendai Chisoro, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe, Wellington Masakadza, Peter Moor, Ryan Murray, Tarisai Musakanda, Blessing Muzarabani, Richard Ngarava, Liam Roche, Donald Tiripano, Malcolm Waller.

Pakistan's travel plans to Bulawayo delayed due to ZC cash crunch

The Pakistan team touring Zimbabwe had to delay plans to travel from Harare to Bulawayo after it emerged that they wouldn't have a hotel to stay in.

The team is in Harare at the moment, having triumphed in a T20I tri-series in which they beat the hosts and Australia to the title. They are scheduled to play a five-match ODI series against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, starting on Friday.

After winning the final on Sunday, Pakistan were originally scheduled to fly out on Monday evening but had to reschedule because the hotel they were due to stay in demanded payment upfront for the booking and Zimbabwe Cricket was initially unable to provide it, which resulted in the cancellation of the booking.

ZC has been in a financial crisis for some time now, having had to postpone domestic tournaments and struggled to pay players and employees. They have at least the promise of some help from the ICC now.

The situation with Pakistan's hotel bookings has since been rectified and the tourists will now fly to Bulawayo - a journey of under an hour by air - on Thursday morning, when their rooms become available. They will train on Thursday afternoon, ahead of the first ODI.

The Zimbabwe squad arrived in Bulawayo on Monday night and trained on Tuesday morning. The teams will play all five ODIs at Queens Sports Club from July 13 to 22.

Rajput confident as Zimbabwe brace for Pakistan gauntlet

Zimbabwe head coach Lalchand Rajput is confident his charges are up for the challenge when they face Pakistan in the five-match one-day international (ODI) series starting in Bulawayo this Friday.

Having watched Zimbabwe fight to the final over in their last two matches against Pakistan and Australia in last week’s Twenty20 international (T20I) triangular series in Harare, the coach believes his rebuilding team has what it takes to compete against the world’s best.

“After the T20I triangular series, the team is in good shape,” Rajput said on Wednesday, after overseeing Zimbabwe’s practice session at Queens Sports Club, venue of the ODI series against Pakistan.

“We did really well in our last two games in which our players showed their potential, that they are good enough to push the best two T20I teams in the world, Pakistan and Australia, all the way to the last over. That in itself is a big thing for us and we hope to carry that momentum into the ODI series,” he added.

Although Zimbabwe will be without the in-form batsman, Solomon Mire, and leading pace bowler Kyle Jarvis due to injury, Rajput believes his team will still be able to rise to the occasion against Pakistan.

“The players have raised their hand and shown that they are very, very positive and want to do well for Zimbabwe. I think we just have to be a little patient, we have got to be backing them and if we support them this team will do wonders,” he said.

“Pakistan are very strong but our players are a little bit confident. The confidence we take from the T20I series will be shown in the ODI series as well. I am sure this team will definitely push Pakistan and make a real fight of the ODI series.”

With rookies Liam Roche, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe and Ryan Murray included in Zimbabwe’s side, Rajput emphasised the importance of not putting too much pressure on the rebuilding team to get immediate results.

“I would like to appeal to the people of Zimbabwe to be patient and please support the team,” he said.

“This team is in a phase where we are getting a lot of youngsters in. It is a rebuilding process so you have to be a little bit patient and I am sure in the days to come this team will really do wonders.”

The ODI series gets underway this Friday at Queens Sports Club, with the rest of the matches scheduled for 16, 18, 20 and 22 July at the same venue.

Depleted Zimbabwe pick three more rookies

Zimbabwe have called up three uncapped players - Liam Roche, Tinashe Kamunhukamwe and Ryan Murray - for the five-match ODI series against Pakistan, which begins on Friday in Bulawayo.

Injuries, meanwhile, have ruled out Solomon Mire and Kyle Jarvis.

With a number of senior players unavailable in the backdrop of friction between the players and the board, the ODI squad has numerous changes from the one that played in the World Cup Qualifier in March. With the likes of Brendan Taylor, Sikandar Raza and Graeme Cremer missing, room has opened up for the return of former captain Elton Chigumbura, who featured in the recently concluded T20 Tri-Series but hasn't played an ODI since November 2016.

Roche, 18, is a former Zimbabwe Under-19 captain, who bats in the middle order and bowls offspin. In his most recent domestic assignment, in May, he scored back-to-back half-centuries for Mashonaland Eagles in the Pro50 Championship.

Kamunhukamwe is a 23-year-old batsman with an impressive List A record, with 379 runs in nine matches at an average of 42.11 and a strike rate of 140.89, including a 98-ball 128 at the top of the order for Rising Stars against Mountaineers in May.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Murray, 20, has been part of the Zimbabwe ODI squad before, having been picked for an ODI tri-series in January, but is yet to make his debut. He has only played five matches - two first-class, two List A, and one T20 - in his senior career so far.

Mire sustained a gluteal tear while scoring 63 against Australia in the T20 Tri-Series match in Harare on July 6.

"He will be out for at least three weeks as he concentrates on physiotherapy rehabilitation which aims to speed up healing and make sure the tear heals without tight scar tissue formation," Zimbabwe physio Anesu Mupotaringa said.

Jarvis, meanwhile, is out for at least six weeks with a fractured thumb in his bowling hand. The fast bowler suffered the injury while trying to take a catch during the opening game of the tri-series, against Pakistan, on July 1. Donald Tiripano had replaced him in the tri-series squad.
