    Well,what a saga and a farce.

4.5 million rupees is about £32,500 which is still a hefty fine.

He's joining Gayle as a freelancer and should his plan come to fruition, he'll be raking it from BBL and his county stint.

World Cup captaincy should have gone to Misbah aswell, this ego has got out of hand,

Good riddance and don't come back.

Its better for Afridi to play league cricket and make money than wasting his energies fighting with the Punjab Cricket Board.

The irony of the whole situation is that Shahid Afridi complains about politics within the PCB and the team management yet he is the one who is busy pleading with politicians, most of them have criminal records,in order to play his precious T20s.

He used his father's illness as an excuse to pull out of the Ireland tour, only to be ready to fly to Hampshire and collect his T20 cup paycheck.

Afridi has no right to play victim here.Remember,he violated his central contract by making rash and needless media statements after the World Cup,after numerous warnings. The PCB had every right to reprimand him.

Time after time he was told to stop making statements to the media, especially after the World Cup but he refused to do so.He directly violated the code of conduct with his unprofessional. We still fail to hear a coherent answer about this !

Instead fans churn out lame phrases such as 'Don't ask negative questions' or 'No he can make statements coz hez a BEEEEASSST'.

People want Zulqarnain Haider fined heavily but at the same time want Afridi to be treated as a special case ! One rule for one and another rule for another.

Now he threw his toys out of the pram over his NOC being revoked. He cares more about his NOC than his country and even willing to stoop so low as to appeal to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Sindh Governor and Sindh Chief Minister ! A real slap in the face to his fans.

Of course,it is the PCB and the management who pick Afridi time and time again, and prefer a yes-man as captain to serve Ijaz Butt’s whims and fancies BUT let’s not put the portion of the blame solely on the PCB’s shoulders here.

Did the PCB tell Afridi to retire and create a media pantomime ?

Did the PCB tell Afridi to go behind Younis Khan's back and meet with Ijaz Butt, during oath-taking drama and make overtures to become captain through the back door ? Which he eventually did.

And now funnily enough,he has returned to the side and got his NOC by the back door too !

You talk about the corrupt PCB,how about the politicians which Afridi is pleading with ? They make the senile fools in the PCB management look like angels !

You play the politics in the first place, you prepare to take the hits !

Now he talks about izzat and ghairat.I guess only when it suits him.He now prefers globetrotting around the world for the T20 paychecks, not giving a damn about his country but rather his pocket.Afridi brought this whole saga upon himself.

Of course the PCB are one of the worst organisations in the world and nobody is denying that,Ahmed Mukhtar was a beneficiary of the NRO so it is no coincidence that his relative Ijaz Butt is a crook as well but there are only so much that we can blame the PCB for.

The best thing Afridi could have done was rationally discuss his concerns with Ijaz Butt, (remember he has already been given the ICC danda after spot-fixing saga) Waqar Younis and Intikhab Alam after the Ireland tour (seeing that Pakistan now have a break) and NOT air dirty laundry in public.

Afridi is the darling of the media and the business communities in Pakistan, that is the only reason why he has got his NOC back so quickly thanks to political pressure.

    Afridi for National Assembly !

Anyway no grudges,he's got his T20 NOC.

How long before he quits and wants an NOC for T5 ?
