PTI was part of parliament that passed this bill. 3 PTI members were part of parliamentary committee. Trying to come clean now by saying we abstained the session is not going to exonerate them from taking ownership of this bill. If they strongly believed in not leaving those questions then they should have made lot of noise when this bill was passed but we heard nothing. Anyways in hindsight it’s good thing that these questions were left out. No where in the modern democracies candidates are required to submit these things. It’s basically job of the media and the opposition to expose the bad candidates. Leaving these questions on the forms only gives our very political courts reasons to disqualify candidates on technical grounds. Simplifying forms will not just save PPP and PMLN but also PTI from getting black mailed by the courts and opposition who use these technical clauses to try and remove their opponents from power.

Spoken like someone hoping to get away with illegal activity in their closet.

There’s nothing technical about it, these issues are illegal. We clearly don’t have a free or competent press to uncover these things, our record keeping is atrocious since trails of millions of dollars seem to go missing and are deals are done verbally for that amount according to your qaid.

I note today the SC has struck down the LHC judgement which is very worrying for the country. I don’t know the reality of the PTI involvement but there is no doubt at all that the PLMN and PPP were 100% in favour of this criminals decision.

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar on Sunday heard suo motu case of financial irregularities in the launch of 56 government companies.

The Chief Justice, who was heading a two-judge bench at Supreme Court’s Lahore Registry, sought details of properties owned by CEOs of all the companies.

Advocate General Punjab told the bench that Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has nothing to do with the recruitments in the companies.

The CJP ordered Shehbaz Sharif to appear before the court to clarify his position regarding appointments of heads of the companies on hefty salaries.

Shehbaz Sharif turned up at the court.

The CJ asked him why public-sector officials were paid Rs1 million when their salaries were Rs.100,000.

Sharif responded that he has also saved a lot of money in other heads. Sharif claimed to have saved Rs160 billion in different power projects. “The reason this courtroom is so cool is because of these power projects,” he said.

The CJ said he was not asking him about those projects. Instead, he said, he was asking about the public-sector officials’ salaries alone.

Sharif responded that the matter had nothing to do with him as the finance department had issued a notification regarding those salaries.

The CJP said you outsourced everything, has the government lost its control?

At which Shehbaz said he was not being given due credit for saving Rs160 billion. “I have worked a lot and even gave my blood for this country but I’m not being appreciated,” said Sharif.

He said he worked for the province for 10 years and bore the expenses of the private jet he used.

Sharif admitted that funds were wasted in clean water projects. However, he said, he saved Rs70 billion in the same project.

The CJ said he was dissatisfied with the chief minister’s replies. Sharif replied that he said what he had, and angrily left the rostrum.

The CJ said that all those salaries paid to the bigwigs will be recovered.

Earlier, another two member bench, CJP Saqib Nisar heard Pakistan Liver and Kidney Transplant Institute’ (PKLI) financial irregularities case.

The Chief Justice expressed anger over spending of a huge amount of Rs20b on construction of the institute building.

He said illegal appointments were made for this institute on hefty salaries.

He restricted the head of Institute, Dr. Saeed Akhtar, from going abroad without court’s permission.

The chief justice ordered forensic audit of expenditures on the institute’s building and sought a report within three weeks.

thanks is that all? no more interesting detail? it was stupid to have abstained, why not just vote against?

but no one can seriously deny that as stupid as that may have been, its still obviously better than having voted for it - thanks PMLN and PPP crooks.

That is just what Shereen Mazari is saying. There is no third party confirmation on her statement. Also the fact that unlike in other cases there was no noise created on this very important issue pending with courts since December of 2017 tells us that PTI found convenient to stay quiet on this matter. Having said that if one is going to criticize PPP and PML-N then its fair to also criticize PTI as being equally responsible for this bill passing through the parliament without them raising awareness to the masses. Saying things after the fact is not going to exonerate them from the crime.

Summary of PMLN economy performance above.
Please note the above chart does not include the years 2017 and 2018. Admittedly, the performance in those two years were far worse and above are supposed to be golden years of PMLN current government.

So lets analyse the numbers here. Trade deficit has widened over the years which has resulted from drop in exports and steady imports. We understand that the drop in exports continued in 2017 and 2018 and with increase in oil prices the overall imports will result in imports value to increase in future suggesting a much wider trade deficit (not a good sign for future).

The exchange rate has depreciated over the years and as I type the current rate is around 115 Rs for 1 USD. This is not a good sign for future considering heavy debts the country has got. The depreciation of currency means an increase in overall debt payments and burden.

The GDP growth rate has been around 4-4.5% during their tenure and never touched anything over 5%, however in their manifesto they promised a GDP growth rate of over 6% and practically speaking we need to increase the growth rate of GDP for the economy to survive. The unemployment rate at the time of their setup was 6% and currently also stands at 6% with no change.

Overall, the economy outlook of Pakistan isn't that great. With increase in imports and falling exports the country is burdening itself with borrowings to meet current trade deficits and there might come a time when the realistic payments of these borrowed amounts would not be possible. Not sure what will happen then but until that time the economy will go further bleak.

I have one big question with PMLN's government. Where did the borrowed money go? Like any setup you borrow money invest in your resources, make money from your resources and then repay the borrowed amount. But I'm not sure where did PMLN invested all that borrowed money into? Surely if they invested in agriculture, tourism, service sector then they should have had a plan on how to repay this amount.

NAB orders inquiry against Nawaz, Abbasi for misuse of power

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday approved an inquiry against former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and his predecessor Nawaz Sharif over misuse of powers to award a LNG terminal contract in violation of the relevant laws, ARY News reported.

The Bureau’s executive board, presided over by NAB chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal, gave the go-ahead to the inquiry against the former premiers who have been accused of misusing their powers to award a contract with regard to a LNG terminal without merit.

Mr Sharif in his capacity as premier and Abbasi as petroleum minister allegedly awarded the contract to their favourite company for fifteen years in violation of the rules and merit, which caused a loss of billions of rupees to the national exchequer.

The NAB also approved investigation against former Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, former Secretary Culture and Tourism and others for giving contracts against the rules, causing a loss of 127 million rupees to the national exchequer.

It also approved inquires against Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, relevant secretaries, MPA from Chiniot and the administration of Ramzan Sugar Mills Chiniot. They are alleged to have caused a huge loss to the national exchequer.

The Executive Board Meeting of the NAB also approved to launch corruption reference against former Chairman Karachi Port Trust retired Vice Admiral Ahmad Hayat, and former General Manager KPT retired Brigadier Syed Jamshed Zaidi.

It merits mention here that on May 8, the NAB chairman ordered an inquiry over money laundering allegations against Nawaz Sharif, triggering severe criticism from the PML-N.

NAB launched the probe against Mr. Sharif after the World Bank’s migration and remittance book released in September 2016 carried information that foreign exchange reserves of India increased by $4.9 billion after receiving the amount from Pakistan.

The former prime minister has also served a defamation notice on the NAB chief for ordering the probe against him.

NAB summons Shehbaz again after no-show in Saaf Pani Company scam

LAHORE: After Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s failure to appear before a team of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) today in the Saaf Pani Company scam, it has summoned him again on June 25.

The PML-N president was served summons to turn up today before the Lahore office along with record of the company, especially details about the salaries and perks of its employees, but he didn’t show up.

The Bureau, therefore, once again asked him to appear before it on June 25.

His son Hamza Shehbaz, former provincial finance minister Ayesha Ghaus Pasha and former MPA Waheed Gul had also been summoned by the anti-graft watchdog in this case.

Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Saeed had earlier conceded before the Supreme Court that a single drop of water couldn’t be made available to the people of the province despite the government having spent Rs4 billion on the Saaf Pani Project.

The chief secretary told the judges that so far Rs4 billion had been spent on Punjab Saaf Pani Company (PSPC), set up with an aim to ensure supply of potable water to the people, but not a single drop of water could be supplied.

Justice Nisar expressed displeasure over the authorities, saying so much money was squandered on advertisement campaign, but the project couldn’t be completed.

He reiterated that everyone will be held to account and that he will ensure every single penny of public money is returned to the national exchequer.

Oh bhai NAB has lost all its credibility after it filed a reference against NS for money laundering of $4.8 BLN to India. Even the opposition criticized NAB for this action. NAB chairman even did not bother to appear before the parliamentary committee to answer and come clean on this reference. Everything else is now just political. Not a single case will be proved. Again NABs intent is not to prove anything anyways. Right now the idea is to make the water muddy enough so there is enough dirt on Sharif's before the elections.

yes of course one reference trumps all of the others in noora world because its the reference that works in their favours. not in the land of the intelligent and honest though. lets see what happens with the references. but thankfully we dont need NAB to show how crooked, corrupt and thieving the nooras were:

ayaz siddique gets destroyed for his subversive attempts at hiding corruption and maintaining the filth in pakistan politics - of course he is a PMLN stalwart. deepest commiserations @iho for the massive loss by your party here today.

what corruption has happened in the last five years? tonnes of it. all the cases are coming to the supreme court now, and will be judged if qaid ul chors bothers to turn up in court. metro corruption. LNG terminal corruption. Abbasi signing over high priced deby on his last day in office - the list is endless for these scumbags.

for those of us somewhat overwhelmed with the sheer number of references against the officially dishonest nawaz sharif, this programme is an excellent summary of the three current pending cases in the supreme court, some details on what they are about, the evidence that has built up and a likely timeline of results:

    http://videos.92newshd.tv/videogall...avenfield-properties-to-children-8-june-2018/

theres some clips of quotes by the sharifs highlighting their very brazen lies.

    Brief summary:

    1. Avenfield: these are properties he bought under his childrens name. there is a money trail for how he was paid, and under pakistani law, he has to demonstrate that the funding was from legitimate money. result after attempts at delay tactics from sharif should still be last week of june or first week of july. the sharifs are trying their best to delay it beyond the elections for obvious dishonest reasons of effecting the election results.

Note, there is a chance they may abscond during the eid holidays, because the department responsible for putting him and his daughter on the ECL has still not addressed it for unknown reasons. They have to be in court for the sentancing and results, it cant happen without them being there.

    2. Hillmetal: this a steel rolling business owned by sharif, and there is a money trail showing that hussain/hassan were using it from an account "Hillmetal/Hussein" to deposit billions into a lahore bank account belonging to nawaz sharif. this is the money trail and direct link to nawaz sharif. the money then goes to PMLN accounts and Maryam's to buy Lahore property. This case wont be decided till after Avenfield but shouldnt be too long.

    3. Flagship Ingvestments: a holding company that holds a bunch of other companies that further own real estate etc. again the defence has been thath the qataris gave money for this. all of the businesses that the sharifs have seeded abroad have been from the qataris allegedly. there is speculation that the true seeding of capital came from kick backs in motorway tenders in pakistan. all of the sharifs business to boot are alegedly loss making. so there is speculation that debt write-offs is another way of stealing from the state bank.

interestingly, they mentioned that according to recent UK laws of "Proceeds of Crime Act" - there will be a return of financial assets, but also citizenships can be cancelled.

well so much for getting a judgement before the elections, the corrupt dishonest disqualified head of the PMLN has now played a very cunning card of recusing his lawyer, which means he has no representation when the very last part of the Avenfield trial was to be heard. genius. if they try to rush it thrugh, he will probably push for a mistrial.

he's not even hiding his intentions, he's making it very clear he is trying to swindle the justice system and the people of pakistan. and yet people defend him.

"“Haven’t they heard that Justice rushed is justice crushed … I have been denied the right to defend myself. Legal requirements are important or verdict before July 25 elections?” he questioned."

pretty clear there as to what hes doing. the courst didnt do anything to deny him rights, his own lawyer walked out because its a tactic to delay proceedings.

I know this thread is for PML-N and PPP performance but the following article should also fall in the same category. Because it also reflects PML-N performance is another way.

Journalist Asad Kharal says attacked over Model Town, corruption cases info

Journalist Asad Kharal has told police that he was attacked for carrying important data to be shared with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), as well as, the top court on massive corruption cases and the Model Town incident.

These details were shared by the Punjab police to chairman of the standing committee on human rights Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar in a report, he added.

The police are conducting geo-fencing of the place of the incident with the help of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and Intelligence Bureau.

A joint investigation team has also been formed to probe the matter following directives from the Punjab government. The JIT is comprised of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI) and CTD officials.

Meanwhile, speaking to The Express Tribune, Khokhar confirmed that the report has been received and it will be shared with the committee members in the next meeting in Quetta on June 11.

He stated that the committee would ensure continuous oversight of the matter.

On June 6, Kharal was attacked by unidentified ‘masked men’ near Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

Confirming the incident to The Express Tribune, SP Cantonment Bilal Zafar said: “We have received a complaint of an incident claiming Kharal was tortured by unidentified men.”

The anchorperson was on his way home from the airport when his vehicle was intercepted. He was taken out from the car and assaulted. Kharal was then moved to Lahore Services Hospital for medical treatment.

    How anyone can support them?

    A) He could be one of these Noora's or somebody close in this family in PML-N or close to these sharifs.
    B) He might get some sort of benefit from this rotten system.
    C) He just love Noora's due to ethnicity.
    D) Neither he's not a Pakistani, nor he want to see better things to happen to either Pakistani's or Pakistan.
    E) Last but not the least, as you mentioned, intense immorality or being on the payroll as social activist.

I for one, will continue to highlight shameful and disgusting acts of these Noora's beside their corruption. I don't care if it irk people.

Maldives to Purchase 2 Super Mushak aircrafts

Pakistani army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid a visit to Malé, Islamabad offered a USD 10 million loan to finance the purchase of two Super Mushak aircrafts from Pakistan’s Aeronautical Complex.

    https://raajje.mv/en/news/34849

Pakistan pledges US$10m loan for Maldives military

An agreement will be signed with Pakistan next July for a US$10 million credit line facility to strengthen the Maldivian military, Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar revealed Friday evening.

Speaking to reporters at the international airport upon his return from a four-day official visit to Pakistan, Shareef said the loan will be used to purchase military equipment and two aircraft.

“Our aim is to obtain two aircraft to be used in training and surveillance with the help of the credit facility before the end of the year,” he said.

Shareef added that the funds will also be used to buy a cargo vessel this year.

Branding the visit a success, Shareef said Pakistan also pledged expert assistance both for developing the recently-established Counter-Terrorism Centre and training military officers.

Prime Minister Nawal Shareef is meanwhile due to visit the Maldives in July.

During his official visit, Shareef had met with Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.

According to AFP, President Mamnoon said several countries have expressed interest in purchasing Pakistani Super Mushak and JF-17 Thunder aircraft.

On Wednesday, Shareef visited the Pakistan Ordnance Factories and witnessed the manufacturing of arms and ammunition. The Maldivian delegation was reportedly told that POF could meet the requirements of Maldives in terms of conventional arms and ammunition.

Meanwhile, following the signing of an Indo-Maldives defence action plan in April, India gifted a second helicopter to the Maldivian military for use in the newly-opened Iskandhar military base in Laamu atoll.

Neither country has disclosed details of the defence agreement, but Indian media reports suggested it is aimed at countering growing Chinese influence in the Maldives.

The Asian Age reported that an internal defence think tank report of the Indian government had raised fears of “China’s recent strategic manoeuvres in and around the Indian Ocean Region.”

In July last year, opposition MP Eva Abdulla requested summoning the then-defence minister to confirm whether a Chinese Yuan class 335 submarine entered Maldivian territorial waters en route to Pakistan.

India Today reported at the time that “China’s deadliest attack submarine” crossed the Arabian Sea and entered Karachi port on May 22.

“Beijing’s first-ever deployment of a submarine to Pakistan signals a new cat-and-mouse game in the region,” India Today observed.

According to the magazine, Indian navy chief Admiral RK Dhowan told reporters in New Delhi on May 28 that India was “minutely” monitoring Chinese naval activity in the Indian Ocean and “signalled the start of a new great game over the world’s most important water body.”

China’s rising presence in the Indian Ocean region has stoked concerns in New Delhi that the rival Asian power is creating a ‘string of pearls’ to encircle India, including Chinese investments in ports and other key projects in Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Q: What this new has to do with PML-N performance?

A: PML-N rejected the help Maldives call and Army came to Maldives rescue.

‘Nawaz Sharif was not chosen to lead PML-N because of better political acumen’

CHAKRI: Estranged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Chaudhry Nisar on Monday said that Mian Nawaz Sharif was chosen to lead the party not because of seniority or better political acumen but because of some “political elders’ wish”, ARY News reported.

Addressing supporters in Chakri town of Punjab province, Nisar maintained that PML-N formally started its political journey in the year 1993 and some political “elders” decided that Mian Nawaz Sharif should lead the movement “not because he was more capable or had strong political acumen” but because the elders decided on his name.

“I have lifted their political burden for 34 years. I am not indebted to them (Sharifs), rather they and their family are indebted to me,” said Nisar.

Nisar, who will contest general elections as an independent candidate, said that he wants to reveal how Nawaz and his daughter Maryam Nawaz were running the party but will remain silent due to his former leader’s wife Kulsoom Nawaz’s deteriorating health.

He urged the people of the area to vote for him in large numbers to silence all his critics.

It is pertinent to note here that the former PML-N stalwart Chaudhry Nisar submitted his nomination papers as an independent candidate for four seats – two National Assembly and two Punjab Assembly seats.

The nomination papers were submitted with the Election Commission of Pakistan Rawalpindi office for NA-59 (Rawalpindi), NA 63 (Taxila) and Punjab Assembly’s PP-10 and PP-12.

The new constituency of NA-59 comprises areas such as Chakri, Chontra, Saddar Baironi, Adiyala, Rawat

its not a surprise, and id be interested to hear what he says, but he is an incredibly weak individual if hes carried the immense amount of insult that has been doled out to him in the past few months, and carried "this burden for 34 years". says more about him being an idiot than the people he is criticising.

however, that doesnt mean that reports he gives us on what is happening behind closed doors are invalid. if anything, it probably gives them more validity, since he has proven himself not to be a sensationalist trying to score cheap points at the expense of others. the only thing in that regard he is guilty of is over-promise of information, and under-delivery of it.
