Lets use this thread for Pre/Post match press conferences going forward.
Sarfraz upbeat ahead of first South Africa ODI
While speaking in the pre-match press conference in Port Elizabeth — which is the venue for the first ODI of the five-match series — Sarfraz said that his side is hoping to make a good start to the series.
“First match is always important,” said Sarfraz. “Hopefully we will make a good start to the series despite the fact that defeating South Africa on their home soil is a challenging task.”
“We are looking to try couple of different combinations in this series and the next one against Australia,” he said. “We want to gauge what combination suits us ahead of the World Cup.”
“We want Fakhar Zaman to play his natural game like David Warner and,in the past, Virender Sehwag and Shahid Afridi,” he said. “We understand that if he stays at the wicket, he can become a scary player for the opponents. I also think he is getting better day by day which is a good sign.”
“Four out of the five ODIs are under lights, which is why we prefer to bat first and put runs on the board,” he said. “Chasing under lights is not an easy task.”
Same one English line they learnt they won’t leave it alone, ‘go out and play natural game’, it’s so cliche this term, nice one Sarfraz telling opposition your plan, ahhhhh!
He’s already lost, he is definition of a coward.
So Fakhar plays like Sehwag/Warner? Might be true but it's too early to make that comparison.
Also, "we would prefer to bat first because chasing under lights is tough" sounds like going out of the way to help the opposition.
Don’t want to make any predictions on Fakhar because he’s a player you can’t predict how he will play but one thing is for certain he ain’t no Sehwag or Warner.
Lol at Sarfraz, loves doing these stupid harkata.
Captains around the world realising trick to beat Pakistan, just big them up, Faf saying Pak is very strong and better than SA and then on match day watch what they do to us, clever this, starting to wish we hadn’t won the champions trophy back then no one cared but now they overestimate us but they don’t think we are good it’s just Pak has never done well when they get praised because they are opposite by nature.
I actually think it's hilarious we say the same thing at every press conference for 20+ years. Must confuse the shit out of other teams.
