Even before I could ask about him about Abdul Razzaq, I was told by Irfan that he'd just said goodbye to his PNT Club captain. Irfan said that Razzaq would be leaving on a flight to England on Friday morning (Pak time) which would make it very unlikely that Razzaq could make it to Lords in time to play Sri Lanka. Irfan said that Razzaq was very excited and had said that he wanted to dedicate the few years he had left to playing for Pakistan.

A couple of days earlier whilst bowling in the nets, Irfan had noticed a very high profile spectator watching the net session. It was Shoaib Akhtar who was only there for a little while but Irfan managed to have a quick chat with him. Shoaib told Irfan that he was a good bowler and that if he continued to work hard then he would go far in the game.

Irfan says that the NCA is very busy these days because Aamir Sohail is holding a camp to select a Pakistan academy team for a tour of South Africa. Irfan himself has been working really hard and hitting batsmen with his bouncers in the nets, he was chuckling whilst relating some stories of clanging a few helmets and visors.

Irfan has made friends with another upcoming fast bowler called Ali Raza who's known as Brett Lee at the NCA. Irfan says it's because Ali's action is a lot like Brett's and that Ali is quite nippy but not close to Talha's speed.
