Rest in Peace.
Aussie Cricketing Legend has just passed away in his sleep
Sad news, was a top commentator.
Commentary is definitely poorer w/o Greig & Benaud..
So sad. RIP
One of my favorite commentators.
Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajiun
It pains in the ears when you listen Ramiz and that Shastri guy commentating
great commentator, will miss his humor
Such sad news. One of the most legendary commentators ever. RIP
I always try to look on the positive side of things in cases like this.
Lived to a good old age, will be remembered for decades to come and passed away peacefully.
RIP Richie, not from my time but a legend nonetheless
Led a long life. Will always be remembered.
Rest in Peace Voice of Australia!Rest in Peace!
RIP Richie. A legend in the comm box, for sure.
Watching Cricket will not be the same without him. He was always a constant in all my years of watching Cricket. Legendary Commentator and Broad Caster.
Rest in Peace. Condolences to his family.
Rest in peace, Richie. An absolute legend in the commentary box and was full of some wonderful anecdotes. By all accounts, he was a good leg-spinner and an excellent captain to boot too (the last - before Taylor's men in 1998 - to win a Test series in Pakistan, in 1959-60).
Condolences to his family, his iconic voice and character will be missed.
RIP Mr. Benaud...I haven't witnessed you as a player but you were a gem of a commentator and true gentleman.
Legend commentator. Cricket games won't be the same without him.
A great innings from Richie. He could bat, he could bowl and boy could he commentate. His voice is missed.
Great commentator. His unique style was my first memory of watching Cricket down under in my childhood.
"Subtract Lewis from that list, Wasim Akram is on a Hat-trick! Played On!"
My most memorable line from RB.
"Its great to see a leg spinner in action there's not many around these days who ball with wonderful control"
My first test series i ever watched - RB comment Abdul Qadir in the 97 test series in England.
I used to watch the highlights on BBC all them years ago and can say defo the best commentator ever.
1992 was the 1st WC I watched completely.Benaud had a different voice than other commies and i asked my father who is the commie, and he said"The Voice of Australia".Since that day Richie Benaud was my Fav commie.
Rest in peace sir!
Sad news. Like many others my first memories of watching cricket here in the UK on the BBC was with Richie as the commentator.
Strange seeing how there is no running around and crazy celebrations. Just a pat on the back from a few team mates and the others join in with the applause. Thanks for sharing the video
No pat on the back, just cleaning his kit.
Loved his commentary.
Him and tony were epic.
