The first play off between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings came just a little under 48 hours when Karachi beat Islamabad in the last of the games to put themselves into the play off as Islamabad had already qualified for it.

This was the last game of PSL 3 to be played in the UAE which again didn't see much of a crowd which has hampered the competiton this year with not being able to have big crowds. But who would've thought of witnessing such spectacular innings first by Karachi Kings' Colin Ingram and then Islamabad's Luke Ronchi.

Karachi had won the toss and Eoin Morgan who won't be travelling to Pakistan for their 2nd play off match in Lahore decided to bat first which seemed like a placid wicket that had many runs in it.

Karachi couldn't have got off to a worst start with Islamabad bowling well within themselves and not giving much away. Khurram Manzoor was the first casualty as he was caught and bowled by Mohammad Sami who has again had a pretty good PSL for the second year running.

Babar Azam was then caught on the second ball by Duminy who was captaining Islamabad United in the absence of Misbah ul Haq giving Sami two wickets in 3 balls and leaving Karachi on 17-2 in 3 overs.

Eoin Morgan couldn't get going and departed for 21 with Karachi in a little spot of bother being 46-3. Then came Colin Ingram who along with Joe Denly went on to put Karachi back on track and both ensured that their team had something to bowl at. Joe Denly went for 51 getting out hit wicket by Faheem Ashraf while Ingram rode his luck as he was earlier dropped on 18 by Hussain Talat that cost them in the end as Ingram finished on 68* off 39 balls and took Karachi to 154-4.

Islamabad opened with Ronchi and Farhan, as Ronchi started from the very first ball when he pulled a short from Amir to the fence and followed it with another taking 14 off the first over.

It was Ronchi's night as he too had a bit of luck on the way and literally destroyed every bowlers figures whoever bowled to him. Farhan picked up seeing Ronchi from the other end and hit two lovely shots for six over Mills head which were good to watch.

Ronchi played shots throughout and scored runs all over the ground and was destructive. Everything he hit went for plenty and Karachi didn't help with letting him a chances as he gave a few catches.

His thrilling 94 not out from just 39 balls, and in the process he also made the fastest 50 off just 19 balls in PSL history as well.

Islamabad are now straight into the finals in Karachi, meanwhile Karachi would be able to have another crack at making it to the finals by playing either Peshawar or Quetta in Lahore.
