Looking at the sorry state of Australian team these days, its difficult to believe that this is the same team that once had spare match winners warming their benches. After the spot fixing scandal broke out, Pakistan lost a potential permanent Test captain in Butt, and 2 promising great fast bowlers of that time i.e. Asif and Amir. We were affected big time but still there were other players in the pipeline who rose to the occasion. Aussies on the other hand just can not seem to cover up the loss of Smith/Warner. Unlike Pakistan, Australians did not have any obvious choice for leader as well as any reliable batsmen on bench to replace their trio. No wonder they have looked so timid and don't think they'd start doing better all of a sudden even if Smith and Warner comeback right away.
