    Title says it all.

Imran has been vocal voice against Sethi, but some of his achievements include,

*)Kicking off PSL and convert it into a successful product.
*)Hosting PSL games in Lahore and Karachi.
    *)Bring world XI to Pakistan.
    *)Bring WI to Pakistan.

Due to his accomplishments, I wouldn't kick him out right away - would you?

    Thought?

    No.

I’m all for Short term success but in the long run, maybe 30-40 years our Cricket will end up just like our Hockey.

Two things I hate about him, 1 he boosted his ego by Kicking Sharjeel out and 2 is that he acts as if domestic cricket is supposed to be handled by someone else, in truth he should have nothing to do with the PSL, it should have its own board.

Shehryar Khan used to play cricket yet he's imo the worst to getting appointed for the position.

I need combination of both Shaharyar and Sehti again. Sethi is good for mantaining relations while Shaharyar was doing okay for managing the gameplay within Pakistan.

Najam Sethi’s position as PCB chairman at risk

The electoral victory of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in general Elections is set to shake up the institutional structure of Pakistan with major changes in the top brass of state-owned institutions including Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

According to the sources, certain individuals believe that Najam Sethi’s position as chairman PCB is in danger, while Khan’s long-time friend Wasim Akram is expected to take over the reins of country’s cricket board, the PCB.

Wasim Akram has played under the leadership of Imran Khan and had also bagged support of the public for the cricketer before the elections.

He also dashed to Imran’s Bani Gala residence to felicitate him on the thumping victory in the elections.

Najam Sethi was appointed as the PCB in 2017 chief by former PM Nawaz Sharif.

Pakistan has 16 FC teams, that is good because the population is high but some Regional teams are terrible, I don’t think there should be six teams either, I think 8-10 teams is good.

Sethi when asked in a interview about the state of the LLCA ground pitch said he has nothing to do with the infrastructure, the pitches have been awful, why do we keep on producing batsman who have extreme technical difficulties? That is because they learn to play on pitches with low bounce where the ball moves a lot of the seam, we associate Pakistan as good players of spin don’t we, well in my opinion we are terrible at playing spin, in the UAE the ball doesn’t spin until late in the match which is why it’s easy to put up 400, imo India would make 650 every time in the UAE, Pakistan players are poor at playing spin because the 123 KPH trundlers do there job, each department invests in 3-4 trundlers and that is a problem. As soon as the quantity decreases the quality increases, and players are challenge in different areas of there game.

People say the PSL was his brain child but guys before the PSL there were 4 big established leagues in the world which shows that it wasn’t a discovery, it was more of just copying a profitable idea.

We saw the Quality of Pak batsman in the PSL, I hope Imran doesn’t spare this chor, hope Sharjeel Khan is given justice as well.

The only way we can produce a good player is if we spot a good player when he is ten and baby sit him in the NCA which is what happened with Babar Azam, you can’t do that for lots of players so it’s also important where a merit system comes forward and younger players are nurtured by good coaches, if you have less teams they can all have good coaches.

I think he should be booted out. he gets credit for the PSL, but in fairness any idiot could have created that, its hardly a new format with new challenges, and he was five years late to the party anyway. other than that his hires have been haphazard, the board are dysfunctional, essentially he is a sifarshi hire who had no business being given the position.

im dead against wasim getting it too for the reasons mentioned by @abc_to_xyz - dead right. get a prober business guy in who knows how to run a billion dollar business and remove the clause for patronship of the PM - that would be the best that IK could do in my opinion.

These sources are incorrect, Just because Wasim has gone over to congratulate Imran it doesn’t mean Imran will make him the chairman of the PCB, he will go with one of the three Ehsan Mani, Zakir Khan or Majid Khan with Ehsan Mani most likely.

Imran will want the internal structure revamped.

He has done well on the surface but is a crooked individual. However I don't think Wasim had the required skill set to do the job and the grey area surrounding his potential fixing past should also not be overlooked.

Personally I'd grudgingly continue with Najam. It will have continuity in the PCB and may also make an ally out of a man who could be very troublesome as an enemy.

think sethi has done nothing wrong, deserves to continue, but with the atmosphere of accountability around it is an inevitability he will get caught up.

so likelihood is he'll leave of his own accord before hes pushed. hes clever enough to realise when to get out imho.

as for successors, sure an interim ceo to reorganise the regional bodies, followed by the bodies electing a chairman democractically is the right way to go about it.

malik was saying last night that his sources are telling him that the PTI powers have sent a message to him not to resign, indicating that he may be left alone for the time being. don't know whether he put up that idiotic tweet after that, but most likely before because ultimately, he is a corrupt moron.

Our cricket is just fine currently. No need to fix something which is not broken currently. we need to make other sports our priority.

Although, noon leagues influence over najam sethi is such that he may well take unreasonable decision to particularly down our cricket. just a conspiracy theory.

i would say just keep working with the current setup and make someone observe if any malicious moves are made.

Imran bats for cricketers as Pakistan Cricket Board administrators

Dubai: With Imran Khan, the cricketer-turned-politician, poised to become the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, there is a likelihood of a major shake-up in the administration of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Top positions in the PCB have always been occupied by nominees of the ruling party. Should that trend continue, then new faces will be seen leading the PCB soon.

According to information from Pakistan, Najam Sethi may have to step down as PCB chairman.

The UAE is scheduled to host many PCB events in the coming months, and Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) officials have had discussions about them with the current PCB administrators. If Imran brings about major changes, all plans for the scheduled activities here may have to be discussed again.

The PCB will host the next edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) during February-March in the UAE. Pakistan will also be staging their international bilateral series against Australia and New Zealand in the coming winter here.

Imran, in an interview to Gulf News, after turning politician, had once remarked: “In Pakistan there are naturally talented players in abundance. We have more talent than any other country in the world, but we need to revamp our domestic cricket structure.” The Pakistan domestic season is scheduled to start from September 1 this year.

It is likely that Imran may open doors for former cricketers to become PCB administrators, although Sethi has done some great work in bringing international cricket back to Pakistan and transforming the PSL into a huge success.

Many cricketers’ names are being talked about as the next PCB chairman. Former captain and legendary pacer Wasim Akram, who is a close confidant of Imran, is among the front runners for this post.

In fact, it was even rumoured that Akram may join politics to back Imran, which he later denied to Gulf News stating: “I do support Imran bhai (brother) but I haven’t joined any political party.”

[IMG] From left: Ehsan Mani, Rameez Raja and Wasim Akram

Akram has continued to keep away from politics but supports Imran in all his activities. Last April, Akram even attended Imran’s Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre launch in Australia, but whether he would be keen to head the PCB remains to be seen.

Former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja, who was once the chief executive of the PCB, is also among the forerunners. Many former cricketers have met Imran following his election triumph, but it is said that those meetings were only to congratulate him.

It is also likely that former ICC president Ehsan Mani be considered for the chairman’s post since Imran is likely to look for a person with administrative skills. It is also likely that Imran may request former captains Zaheer Abbas and Javed Miandad to play a part in PCB’s administration. Former leg spinner Abdul Qadir and all rounder Salim Altaf may also be ushered into PCB’s activities.

Many feel that Imran will likely play a big role in lifting the overall standard of sports in the country and may even encourage former players to run the Pakistan Hockey Federation.
