Pakistan batted first today after Australia won the toss. They got off to a good start, with Sharjeel, Malik and Babar cashing in to put the Australians on the backfoot. Babar equalled Viv Richards' record of fastest to 1000 ODI runs. However, once Babar was out, no-one could finish the innings and Pakistan ended with an underpar 263, which was chased down easily, courtesy a 100 from Smith. Handscomb also churned up a fifty on debut, although he would have been out on 0, had Junaid Khan not overstepped.
