Keep dreaming pal, Inzi, Mickey and co are NOT going to drop Sarfaraz anytime soon.

I would have Azher at 3 and Baber at 4, rest are good.
Dropping Yasir would be the right decision as he has been toothless so far.

Babar is batting at 5 currently and is literally left stranded on 31 not out right now! He must bat at his favourite No. 3 position in my opinion!! Azhar is more comfortable at No. 4 in my opinion and Babar loves to bat at 3! Good for everyone!@

He already failed at 3, right now, he is only JUST getting his groove back.
No 3 is the most important batting position, you need your best player on it.
Yes, yes, i know, Baber is INDEED our best but i just think it would be better if he is given the responsibility a bit.....gradually.

We will win the final test and odi series 3/2 and t20 series 2/1.
    @SwingNSeam wait and watch!
Conditions yeh hai ke final test mein Fahim Ashraf aur Shadab Khan ko chance dein, donon openers ko drop karein aur 1 ki jaga Rizwan ko laayein!

I think Pakistan was too desperate to get an opener in test so they promoted half baked Fakhar from LOI to Tests.

But then, who else is good?
Perhaps you? Yeah if u can play 20 odd overs, and make Steyn and Philander look like jokers.

Fakhar played attacking innings in UAE which got him very close to debut 100 but here he's been on defensive mode for some reason. He was specifically brought in the test side to play attacking cricket.

when you drop a guy after one test match when he performed, he's hardly going to have the confidence to play aggressively knowing that he will get dropped again. add to that he's probably going through a poor run of form.

Abid Ali has been sent as a replacement for Harris Sohail I believe~ Is it wrong? If he is sent to SA, then he must play in place of Imam as opener!!

    Shadab
    Faheem
    Amir
    Abbas
    Shaheen

Use Shadab for spin if needed otherwise his batting is solid enough for 30-50 runs. Faheem if he comes off is 30-50 runs too also his bowling is solid. These two as a bowling option is better than playing Yasir on these wickets as theres no way game will go to 5th day where he may come in handy

Shaheen ko itna nahi ragro ke woh injured hojaye! We need to have some sort of rotation policy in place for our pacers particularly! Shaheen bowls quick and is fully capable of getting injured if he is given 3 consecutive tests to play!

Johannesburg is the most pacer friendly wicket in SA.

A confidence shot Pakistani side with an already fragile batting order is perfect recipe for a thrashing.

Pakistan likely to make two changes for the final Test

Pakistan are likely to make two changes in the playing XI for the final Test against South Africa, which will take place at Johannesburg from January 11-15.

South Africa have already got an assailable lead against the Men in Green, leading the three-match Test series by 2-0.

The fast bowling allrounder, Faheem Ashraf and the wicketkeeper-batsman, Mohammad Rizwan are expected to make their way into the playing XI, while the legspinner, Yasir Shah and left-handed batsman Fakhar Zaman are likely to sit out.

The star performer for Pakistan in limited-over cricket, Zaman managed to score only 20 runs in four innings, he opened the inning thrice, whereas batted in the lower middle-order in the second inning of the Cape Town Test.

On the other hand, Yasir Shah who has been phenomenal for Pakistan in Test cricket could not get any sort of assistance from the wickets in South Africa and could take only one wicket in 32.4 overs in three innings.

The 26-year-old Rizwan has been in top form with the bat, playing for Pakistan ‘A’ in First Class and List A games against England Lions in the UAE.

Ashraf can give Sarfraz Ahmed an additional option as a seamer, moreover, he would add depth to Pakistan’s batting line as he is a handy batsman down the order, having a half-century to his name.

Pakistan’s expected playing XI: Imam Ul Haq, Shan Masood, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Sarfraz Ahmed (c), Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Abbas, Shaheen Shah Afridi.

    Good changes in my opinion.

So Sarfraz is not insecure of Rizwan being in the team. Another myth busted.

Why the hell is Imam still in the team? At least Fakhar has scored some runs no and has long-term potential. Imam is a dud I think. Would drop Asad (but not gonna happen since he scored a brilliant 88) and play Abid Ali.

Agree with this. Imam is given a long rope, Fakhar is given two games. Typical. Not sure what the hell Abid Ali brings to the table though.

Imam is getting leeway due to nepotism. If Inzy was uncle of Fakhar, and Imam would have been replaced with Rizwan.

    My XI would be:

    Shaan
    Azher
    Baber
    Asad
Abid (wouldn't risk a youngster as on opener)
    Shadab
    Sarfaraz
    Faheem
    Hassan
    Amir
    Abbas

Problem is Imam, he is not going anywhere, so you cant have Shadab in XI.

Team management said they'll do two changes, Rizwan in Fakhar out, Faheem in Yasir out - rest will be the same.

If they opt your XI then Pakistan would become more competitive, but no, its against the LAW. The LAW says, never take full advantage of your available resources and always make selection blunder (never pick the best XI), which even my 10 years old nephew can see.
