Fahim and Shadab should be given a chance!
specialists have failed, give a chance to all your bowlers to win you a test. be a pioneer and field 11 bowlers and no wicket keeper.
specialists have failed, give a chance to local malis to win you a test.
this could be quite a fun thread.
Like you have Botham & Imran waiting on the bench. LOL
Shadab and Fahim did well in England/ Ireland I guess so give them a chance in place of Yasir Shah and openers (imam and fakhar), replacement of harris sohail should come in for one of the openers, sarfraz needs to sit out for Rizwan and Shan Masood should be the Captain ala Graeme Smith!!
but yasir shah is the bestest spinner in the world @Shahzad.Firdous
Yasir Shah is but if he is not effective in these conditions then we got to try Shadab and see how he goes! What is the worst that is going to happen with trying these things differently, we have already lost the series so better try something different and see if it works! Shadab will contribute with both bat and ball like he did in England! Shadab scored 3 fifties in 3 innings in England. He wont pick 14 wkts like Yasir Shah but he will pick couple of wickets and contribute with bat, same for Fahim Ashraf.
South Africans have played Yasir Shah without any difficulty in two tests now so give them someone different! Shadab is different to Yasir.
Don't think the pacers except Afridi are upto the mark. Abbas and Amir are bowling too slow for these sorta wickets. They need to be touching 140 or thereabouts and hit the wicket hard...not in the 128-132. Not too many bouncers too which were bowled.
Let the pacers bowl well and Yasir can play a very useful holding role.
Amir has picked 8 wickets in 2 tests so far and he has always been our superstar! Shaheen has been superb to say the least! He has picked I think 9 wkts~ Abbas was a surprise he picked only a single wicket which came as a surprise but dont forget Asif could not pick a single wicket on his debut test in Australia so Abbas is still a very good bowler in my opinion! Alternative is Hassan Ali I dont think he is better than these 3 but the manner in which Shaheen bowls he is likely to be injured cus he bowls quick he puts his body into the action so I think we must not waste him in the dead rubber! Play Hassan Ali in place of Shaheen in dead rubber I would say otherwise you will end up losing Shaheen as well!!
Specialists win you tests unless your All-Rounder is world class and can bat/bowl with equal venom.
When something is not working, you got to create ways@ Yasir Shah has been highly ineffectual in the two tests so its time we try something different and give Shadab a go to see how he goes! Yasir Shah wont pick 10 wkts in South Africa unless its Cape Town aur Cape Town mein bhi wicket nahi mili Yasir ko! Shadab can contribute with bat and ball and is a utility cricketer!! Also, you got to look at team combination. We need 5th bowler and we cant play 4 specialists and an allrounder. That would further weaken already weak batting. 5-3-2-1 combination got to be tried in my opinion and this can be done by inducting Fahim and Shadab!!
Criminal to have played Yasir in both tests. One of the main reasons we lost the 1st Test IMO.
Look at the bright side, we are not discussing Hafeez anymore. Thank God he finally retired (he should have not played in UAE either) and allowed a 'youngster' like Shan to play instead. There have been too many opportunities lost in the past as he hogged a top order spot.
Shan Masood ala Graeme Smith bhahaha
Ye wala nasha chahie

I don’t necessarily agree that all rounders should replace specialists in general, however the situation we’re in, I would include both shadab and Fahim in the team.
There are only a few players in the current crop of players that have character, heart and fight. These are Fakhar, Hasan Ali, Shadab and Fahim. They all should play and build the team around them.
I’m sick of players who are just interested in cementing their places for the next game. You could tell Asad was itching to get out yesterday after getting to his 50 - in his mind he’d done enough to keep his place so no point hanging about and face the heat on an uneven pitch against a pacy attack.
