Interestingly all 3 judges had Ortiz ahead on the cards at that point

If ortiz had a broken jaw then no one should judge him BUT if he quit again then his career is pretty much over.

Brook wins! That was a test for Kell and he just about got through it. Gets a crack at the title after that victory.

No offence to brooks, sometimes he gives the impression that he lacks power and that he just a points fighter.

He could have finished Hatton in his last fight too but lacked the killer instinct to finish him off. He will learn a lot from this fight. This guy pushed him all the way.
On another not did you see Chris Eubank Jnr? He looks an exciting fighter. Great body puncher!

They have used the steel fence several times lol. Just to add drama to what should be haye beating the crap outta del boy for a maximum of three rounds. Too bad poor old khan feels he should be getting more attention for his fight.........maybe he should add a steel barrier between him and angel garcia while danny steps back.

Other than the barrier did you see how ripped Haye looks (seems like hes been training hard) and then you have Chisora running his mouth off with his pot belly :p

To be honest Haye has always looked ripped. Credit to him, he's been retired nearly a year now but still looked after himself.

Yep, cracking combo. That first left went right through him. Expected that result. I thought Haye would have finished him quicker.

Broner fighting in a short while. His fights are always exciting. A bit of a letdown in him not making the weight at the weigh in though. He's been stripped of his title. He always said this would be his final fight at this weight.

Escobada's corner throw in the towel in round 5. Their man was getting a beating. Adrian broner continues to impress. Dominant performance!

Thats beautiful....So whats this guy's strength? foot work or reflexes or flexible upper body that allows him to get out of the way of other guy's punches?

After the virtuoso performance he put in against froch, it may just be a case of ward making it look like a one sided boring fight.

Froch is one tough and durable fighter, he is relentless but he locked lost against ward because ward just beat him to the punch every time.

Andre Ward!!! He gets better everytime you watch him fight. He bullied Dawson tonight. He made it look so easy and gets the stoppage in round 11.

Ricky Hatton comeback set for approval by boxing officials

Former two-weight world champion Ricky Hatton's comeback has moved closer after he appeared before boxing officials to ask for his licence back.

Hatton, 33, attended a British Boxing Board of Control (BBoC) meeting in Cardiff on Wednesday ahead of a planned news conference on Friday.

General secretary Robert Smith told BBC Sport: "His licence will be granted pending the completion of medicals.

"He spoke well, looks fit and he wants to have one more hurrah."

Hatton has not fought since suffering a second-round knockout by Manny Pacquiao in May 2009.

The Manchester-based former light-welterweight and welterweight champion formally retired last year and now runs his own promotions company.

In 2010 Hatton was stripped of his licence to box by the BBBoC after allegations of cocaine usage.

"He looks very well, everything seems to be in order and he's sorted himself out," Smith said.

"From what he was saying he seems very settled with his family. He has already had some of the medicals and we are making sure he's on track."

Hatton dominated the light-welterweight division and his most notable win at that weight came against IBF champion Kostya Tszyu in 2005.

The following year Hatton defeated Puerto Rican Luis Collazo to take the WBA world welterweight title, and he followed that victory by beating Juan Urango to reclaim his IBF light-welterweight title.

He lost to Floyd Mayweather in 2007 and suffered a comprehensive beating by Pacquiao in his final fight three years ago.

Hatton, who frequently ballooned in weight between bouts, has lost three stone this year and is tipped to return to action with a fight in November.

He stopped Paulie Malignaggi in 11 rounds in his penultimate fight in 2008, since when the American has become the WBA welterweight champion.

Former world champion Barry McGuigan has told the BBC that Hatton can win a world title again.

"There's every chance we'll see 90% of the Ricky Hatton we saw a few years back and that will be good enough to beat someone like Paulie Malignaggi," McGuigan said.

I reckon hes been away from the sport for too long and this could backfire bigtime unless he gets a few easy opponents. He looked massive the last time i seen him. That has got to have an impact on the body.
