Came as a sub for smith in ashes and since then he hasnt looked back. Ended 2019 with highest runs in test and started 2020 with a bang.

Are we witnessing another great aussie in the making ?

Need to wait till next season or till he is out of form.

Great batsman will score bounce back quickly.

    Talk about grabbing your opportunity.

In contrast, he’s FC average is 41.

He was out of form. Made it big after coming as sub and was instrumental in Australia retaining ashes.

Excellent prospect but I will hold my judgment till he plays in all different conditions.

I am more eager to see how he performs against best spinners on day 4/5 in a Test in Asia.

Faf du Plessis averaged above 50 as well in his first 10 games or so if I remember correctly, despite his FC average of slightly above 40. You never know but still it is too early to hype him up. I think Ollie Pope is the real deal.

No, he was dropped on return of smith and Warner.

Fact is that the first season or purple patch will never tell/allow us to gauge one's abilities.

He toured UAE but didn't scored big so let wait and watch.

Brilliant start. Simply outstanding. The key is consistency. Let’s see if he has it.
