You are very tall masAllah. 98 kg at 6'3" would not look fat. As I said before, BMI is not an ideal measure for taller guys. From purely a scientific point of view, tall people are more likely to be overweight in a 'healthy' way as directed by their height. Shorter and fat people are more likely to be unhealthy and may have underlying medical problems.

Yes knees can develop Osteoarthritis prematurely in taller people especially if on the heavier side, but even more quickly in shorter people who are overweight. Just keeping phyically active, maintaining a healthy weight and avoiding any injuries to your knees as much as possible can help prevent or delay onset of osteoarthritis i.e 'ware and tear'.

That is not over weight, it is beastly lol, must be genetic unless you spent most of your youth working out, that will be me eventually, still wondering if I should go for bulk or focus on being lean.

3 inches taller than me and 16 kg heavier

@Prince Pathan is it advisable to work out if one has high blood pressure? Can't find a clear cut answer.

    1. Never hold your breath
    2. Lighter weights
    3. If you ever feel something is wrong, do not go beyond it.

You can definitely work out with High BP but you need to be careful not to do too much strenuous workouts. It is a really grey area because workouts increases your BP. May I ask if this is for you?

If it is you I suggest eating stuff like Wheatabix, wholegrain foods, fruits and vegetables. Cut ou any junk that you may incorporate in your diet. High BP can be serious in the longer run and @MNA can probably advise better

    Skimmed Milk (only)
    Leafy Greens
    Sweet Potato
    Broccoli
    Berries
There is this new Tetley Green Tea in Tesco with Berries and is recommended for the heart.
    WholeGrain Bread
    Wheatabix

No Red Meat for you unfortunately

Yes for me. Thanks for the tips.

I hardly used to have junk food..unsure as to why my BP is high as I thought of myself to be a fairly healthy person.

Thanks for tagging me here bro @Prince Pathan

    @s_h_a_f

    1) If you are a young person (i.e. under 40) it is important that you GP rules out secondary treatable causes of Hypertension such as Thyroid, Endocrine and some Cardiovascular disorders.

    2) If you have a family history of Hypertension, you may have Essential Hypertension which is polygenitical and multifactorial. You may be fit and lean person but still have it. Off course reducing weight in case of you are overweight will help lower your BP.

    3) This is advice from NICE (National Institute of Clinical Excellence): Regular physical activity — at least 30 minutes most days of the week — can lower your blood pressure by 4 to 9 millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). The best types of exercise for lowering blood pressure include walking, jogging, cycling, swimming or dancing. Strength training also can help reduce blood pressure.

    Hope this helps.

I am happy being touch underweight (with a normal BMI) then to be overweight any given day.

I feel I am currently physically the fittest than I ever been in my life.

Okay doc. But with a 5'10 frame, your fitness levels wouldn't decrease even if you were to add a bit more muscle.

haha, i am 5'11'' and 98 kg (was 96.5 when i posted earlier but been eating out too much past few days), was 107, lol. had a big belly. dont look too fat if i dress right (decent fitting and basically stand without slouching), but still have a belly, which is just not nice.

i think waist size is a better guide, anything above 35 is pbly in the fatty category.

Weight of 62 and waist of 28 is a bit too less for a guy. Couple of years ago when I was at my fittest I weighed around 71 / 72 kgs and everyone used to say that I look weak. I would personally like my weight to be around 74kg mark. However, as discussed earlier my issue seems to be that of being skinny fat.

Many thanks to @MNA and @Prince Pathan for their insight on workout and diet regime. Will make some changes to my workout routine as well as diet and see if there is any progress. I am a bit hesitant about taking BCAAs as I don't really want to put a lot of artificial stuff in my body.

On a related note is it safe to take BCAAs along with multi vitamins that I take every morning? The reason I started taking multivitamins was because I felt exhausted during the day and literally had no energy by night time and even felt sleepy and a bit tired at work. I figured it was because of lack of a balanced diet so I started taking multi vitamins.
