He's not wrong y'know, water has weight, so every time you drink it you add weight. You should all apologise

There is such a thing as water retention tbh

But this is the young disturbing Akmal we're talking about

    His body defies science
    His brain defies logic
    His batting defies skill
    His existence seemingly defies character

Ppl exaggerate things. I watched this interview on TV, he didnt mean it literally but was just giving an example that even if he drinks water it will affect him.

And now they have made a big news of it and making fun of him.

Pakistani batsman Umar Akmal says his genes are to blame after being dropped from the West Indies tour.

While talking to Waqt News, the middle-order batsman explained that he and his brother Kamran Akmal are prone towards weight gain, no matter how much they control their diet.

“Even if we only drink water, it increases our weight,” he said. “Only our brother Adnan has a biological system which does not show his heavy diet on his body,” he further added.

While sharing his recent diet, the junior Akmal said that he has been on a BBQ diet for the last two days. “Along with that I am only taking salads and water but even this shows on my body,” Akmal said.

Umar Akmal was only player who was not selected for upcoming West Indies tour because of lack of fitness.

Meanwhile, elder brother Kamran has made a comeback in both the T20 and ODI sides after impressive showings in the Pakistan Super League.

Good Lord, is this guy for real?

I mean I've never heard in my life about such kind of unique metabolism.

To me it's plain simply, he's a lazy clown who have no desire to burn more calorie than avergae person. I doubt that if he can run for 5 minutes on incline position on a trade mill, let alone doing sprints.

Simply put, it tells about his mentality, character and how serious he takes his profession, which is sports. Truly a lost cause.

I assume because it runs in the family.

Have almost no academic background, does not possesses any special skill so what's the harm jumping the bandwagon when Kami was already there to support him and whine in media about his baby brother.

I'm grateful to their dad that he didn't pursue "cricket" as a second carrier.

Well his attitude towards the game proves why he never became anything more. People who run away from working hard end up like this. Instead of blaming other things he should first admit it to himself that he is not physically fit due to himself. Umar Akmal's enemy is him and no one else. Let this be a lesson to everyone, no matter how much talented you are. If you don't work hard enough you will be left behind from the others. Thats why you should always thrive to be better than yesturday.

Then isn't it better to maintain a safe distance from media instead of making cringeworthy comments like these, at least for a while when everything in the world is going against you?

I understand where he's coming from, but you, I and Umar will be naïve if we don't understand how media make highlights out of nothing.

True, and this thrive to be better applies in every aspect of life and not only towards your professional.

Those objects are considered dead if they don't progress in life with time, in my book.

My bad, forgot to mention human beside objects. Now in next interview I presume I'll hear terms like these.

'Jasi Allah ki marzi, mera to kio quasoor nahi hain is main'

Then it'll be a "period" for any kind of argument afterwards.

Guys like him don't deserve much with that kinda attitude. PCB should invest in another cricketer now. Atleast he with the given chances will be a better player than Umar Akmal.

Complaining and blaming others for his failures is in his genes actually, so nobody should be amazed.

It's always somebody's fault and poor Akaml is always innocent and his time he even loops in the medical science :p.

Pointless to talk about this guy to be honest, some people are born like this.

Yes, it hurts to know how much time has been wasted on him, but it's never too late, there is always a point to start new things in life, and this is one of those time to move forward.

If true, then playing cricket should be his last priority. He should get checked for SIADH which can also be caused by some cancers.

Edit: Sounds like this was a distorted news story.
