and most people are saying Fawad because he performed better than other in international cricket.. if there was someone else who had performed same as Fawad since his comeback then he would have been mentioned as well.

whole squad is messed up but then again our team as a whole sucked.. fawad was one of the few performing guys.

Honestly, I am not saying that Fawad or anyone else couldn't have performed better than selected players but rather that it is a relatively merit-based squad. The domestic scene is not stacked with talent and I don't there is anyone ''automatic selection'' that has been left out. If you think there are, please name them. If it's only Fawad, I somehow wonder why Pakistan squad would be based on meritocracy except for one guy and one guy only.

i said before as well, iam not a massive fan of fawad and i agree that he will be a liability in tough situation but then who wont be ? dropping him just because of the reason that his technique is not good or he is a test player are just childish excuses. even our great batsmen havent done well in those condition so to single him out is quite unfair imo.

I personally don't think Fawad is being targeted because he's from Karachi, because mediocres like Shafiq keep getting chances. But I want to make one thing clear; picking Younis Khan, Afridi, Sohail Khan or Anwar Ali doesn't exactly scream equality for all races; all of these guys might live in Karachi but they're all pathans. General consensus is that native Urdu speakers of Karachi are discriminated against.

For the record, the current squad going to the world cup has 9 Punjabis, 5 Pathans and 1 native Urdu speaker. That's hardly a fair representation of ethnicities in Pakistan. And I'm a Sindhi and I'm not even complaining about Sindhis, Baluchis or others. But to have one "mohajir" represent Pakistan is not fair at all.
