Were you a bullied at school or were you the bully?

Never got bullied tho. Bullied the fat ones and the annoying ones a little bit. Always been a socialite trying to keep people happy sort person.

Come to think of it, i didnt even bullied in actual. If i was bothered then i responded with that. Never initiated it.

Never really been bullied, but am a bully today...

Though I do make sure the 2-3 guys I bully aren't too hurt in the end LOL

 

Went through phases of both I think- though I was never violent- just used to take the piss out of people.

I think 12-13 or so I was picked on a bit because I was quite short back then and I was also a new boy at school and didn't know anyone but 13-15 or so I got more popular and started taking the mickey out of people. By 16 I think everyone had grown out of that crap and just got along.

 

Never got bullied, but i would say that i crossed a the line and did bully occasionally. Grown out of it now but secondary school was a fun place. Wouldn't change what i did at all. I enjoyed it now and still have a laugh about them times with my friends.

Just to clarify, there was nothing creepy about it. We've known each other for a long time, so this was kind of an inside joke. And I really do respect her like my little sister.

Got kinda bullied in primary school (nothing serious, just name calling), other than that, not really...despise bullying and bullies in ANY form.

Anyone who makes fun out of someone for the way they look, their weight, their abilities etc is scum and i let them know that if i have the chance, dont care who you are (and it has lost me 'friends' in the past also but meh)

 

No I definitely got bullied. Lol. It was in secondary school over the first 2 years. It was quite sad because I was in a group of 5-6 with people of the same background as me as in they were also British Pakistani people. And one of them had been my closest friend in Primary school and I wasn't willing to make new friends in High School and so I stuck with that guy and his friends and eventually I did get bullied by that group of people. I was once punched repeatedly by the same guy from primary by a knuckle duster. The first year wasn't bad but then came the second year and new guys came (Asian background - Pakistani/Bangladeshi) a group of 6-7 and they pushed me out of this 'friendship group'. Then it was bullying where it was a constant occurrence and physical and at the time it was the worst thing ever. Now I don't really think about it but it really was bad. Surprisingly the only guy I didn't get along with at the very start of High School was the only guy who I kept on socialising the most with throughout the rest of school. Thank goodness I moved sets by the end of year 8 and after that I had only one class with them guys in Year 10 and 11 and it all eventually stopped when I found the courage to finally say 'you know I've had enough of this and I'm going to punch this guy straight in the face' and yes I did that and after that it completely stopped. Looking back now I know exactly why it stopped and it's because after I got out of that group and moved sets I made lots of new friends and socialised with almost everyone in and out of school time so they couldn't really do anything to me after that. I was liberated. Yes they would still occasionally come into the library where I would generally be watching cricket to tease me and try and start something or when you are walking on your own somewhere they would surround you in a circle with their cronies and say stuff to you but you have to be big enough to ignore that and just try and move on.

TBH I'd say 98% of my bullying has been received by anti social people with an Asian background majority Pakistani people. And I felt betrayed because these are the people you feel understand your situation better than anyone else. Whether it was Mosque, in School I was bullied with both words and physical. And it wasn't just kids. I remember going to mosque last year after my gran had died and they left me out of conversations, leaving me to sit on my own with my Dad. They spoke among themselves only and looked at me weirdly as if I was the problem and eventually I would do something silly and then they would smirk and as I am shy and nervous I had a breakdown a few days later. I also remember a supply Teacher who was of a Pakistani background asking me 'Are you from Pakistan' as in to say - you are beneath us and you are not British. When that's absolutely not the case. I was born in England and my Parents are also well adept to British society as my Dad came here when he was 14 and my Mother when she was 9. Others would say 'Do you have a green passport' and stuff like that. But the supply Teacher one really hurt me and was a sought of shock to the system because I was actually sitting across two other Asians and he never asked them. Why me? And it isn't something you can expect from a professional person if you know what I mean.

Other bullying I received in Mosque where the Mosque teacher would constantly come up with conspiracy theories and tease you and then there were kids who had more connections and they tended to trouble you the most. Even in school these people had this tendency to make it believe as if the school was their property and they can do whatever they want.

I always wondered why my old man was always saying stuff like 'friends are not really your friends, they only use you' and he would also constantly emphasize 'Try go to a school where there is less Asian population' the school that I I went to had majority white population but despite that what happened. Now I understand what my Dad was talking about. Of course some Asians are the best people you can meet and some people I've met on this forum and other places like School and in Mosque are genuinely professional and honest people in keeping with social decency and are fully paid up members of society but because I'm slightly reserved, quiet and shy I feel lots think I'm an easy target.

But I've interacted with lots of people whether that be British, Eastern European, people from African countries, India, China, Iraq, Syria and many other people from different countries and backgrounds they don't have that thing about them especially most people in this country - they understand people are different and some people are shy and reserved others are quite talkative and confident but they will treat you equally and respect your abilities and they understand you know this guy he's a hardworking kid and he's not a troublemaker and he wants to go somewhere in life and they respect you for that. You know my teacher's almost all of them I have the utmost respect for. These are the people we want to support in society. These are the people who work hard and are good and honest people and just the most amazing people you can ever meet.

Of course when you are being bullied it's very easy to say 'well, why didn't you say anything or do anything about it' - I also never told anyone and kept it to myself and suffered greatly and perhaps I'll never know why.....
