We need to thrash SA to start one of these paths
Yep unfortunately our poor NRR is haunting us. We need some big big wins.
Apart from the general poor performance 2 main things are haunting us.
1 - the heavy loss to the West Indies
2 - wash out vs Sri Lanka
Last time I asked you and you presented two options.
Now there are three. It seems like the chances are increasing daily.
We will go through inshAllah
Things change after every game. We need to win big and hope for the best in other games.
Aus losing to SA is pretty much not gonna happen so our best hope is still England losing 2 out of 3.
if nz loose three games, and we win our next four surely our run rate will get better and theirs will worsen. i actually think this is our best hope. Eng wont loose 2, maybe 1.
We probably need to beat NZ massively to go ahead
something like NZ 160 all out and then chase that 160/1 in 25 overs or something like that
England losing 2/3 seems incredibly likely by the day.
This thread should be locked until we win tomorrow.
All this analysis lol, we are such a bechara qaum
Wouldn't be surprised if England sack more than half of their team permanently if they miss out again lol
World T20 2016
Champions Trophy 2017
World Cup 2019
Can't happen 3 consecutive times
If you think logically, it’s the opposite.
Last time there needed to be two conditions to meet and we could qualify - but now it’s three conditions to be met.
Pakistan can qualify if
They win all 4 games. Eng win 1 out of 3 only, Slanka 2 out of 3.
Slanka win only 1 out of their 3 games, England 0 out of 3 and Pakistan manage to win 3 out of 4.
We can expect Pakistan to win atleast 3 games out of 4 (if we want to stay in tournament), England to lose to Aus and Ind but Slanka have two relatively easy games in SAfrica and West indies so we would need to watch out on slanka vs safrica and slanka vs windies. Best scenario is we win all 4, Eng win 1 out of 3 and Slanka win 2 of 3!!
Looks like Pakistan will have to win remaining 4 if they have to qualify for semi final its as simple as that@@
any chance of pak qualifying with the run rate in line with nz points if england win 2 games.
I think England will miss out. Pakistan just need to concentrate on winning their remaining games. If England lose 2 it won't come down to NRR.
Tomorrow's match is very, very crucial. Australia need to be beat England and then if we win on Wednesday it will be chand raat!
Easiest way: England lose 2 and Pak win 3.
Tricky way: NZ lose next 3 heavy and Pak win 3 heavy. Points will be equal and NRR will decide.
Tricky way is more likely to happen than easy way
Yeah it doesn't look like England will lose 2 although its possible. In that case what would be wicked is that England thrash NZ heavy.
We need to win all our games comfortably Insha'Allah.
never lose hope in the game of life. SA have been swept aside like dusting your Armani suit jacket.
we go again. Wednesday. The big day. Will crush NZ.
Might as well throw this in the mx while we are at it -
Scenario for another India vs Pakistan clash in the tournament
There is a slender chance for this high voltage clash to materialize again, and at the same venue which has already been host to the iconic clash twice.
The first semi-final of the World Cup, that would be played on 9th July between the sides placed first and fourth on the table would be held in Manchester. An India versus Pakistan match could well be on the cards if India tops the table and Pakistan manages to find some form. Although, this seems a bit difficult considering the manner in which Pakistan are poised in the table, mathematically the odds cannot be ignored. Sarfaraz Ahmed's side is currently placed 6th in the points table, with 2 wins, 3 losses and a no-Result from 6 matches.
In order for us to witness another clash between the neighbours, Pakistan would be required to win all their remaining games against New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan so as to fancy their chances in the top 4. Pakistan would also require Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh to lose at least one game, as they, too, stand a chance of giving a competition to the Asian side for the semi-final berth by winning all their scheduled matches.
India, on the other hand, have established a firm grip on a spot in the next phase, with their impeccable brand of cricket. The challenge for them would be to win all their remaining games, in order to claim the top spot. Further, considering the fact that the in-form Men in Blue have their games against some of the sides which Pakistan requires to lose, shifts the odds in favour of another Indo-Pak clash.
Finally, the prospects of a subcontinental semi-final would require England to lose all their games, so that the hosts are out of contention. These results have been calculated to avoid bringing the net run rate into play for any of the positions.
If the aforementioned equation materializes, then India, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan would advance to the next stage. India would top the points table with 17 points, while Pakistan would be placed fourth with 11 points. Australia and New Zealand would occupy the second and the third spots, depending upon the results of the match between them, and that of the world champions and South Africa.
Cricket is a game of uncertainties while India and Pakistan are two of the most unpredictable sides on the global stage. Thus, considering the mathematical equation at hand, the chances of another India versus Pakistan match in this World Cup cannot be overlooked.
The numbers game: How can Pakistan make it to the World Cup semi-finals?
Pakistan’s thumping win over South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday has revived the team’s hopes of making it to the top four of the ongoing World Cup 2019.
After Sunday’s match, South Africa also became the second team, along with Afghanistan, to officially get knocked out of the tournament.
So what are some realistic scenarios of Pakistan reaching the semi-finals of this World Cup?
Pakistan’s campaign in this World Cup has drawn several parallels to Imran Khan’s “Cornered Tigers” from the 1992 glory. With a convincing win over South Africa on Sunday, Sarfaraz Ahmed & Co now have 5 points from 6 matches. They MUST win all three of their remaining games: against New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. If they win all these three matches, Pakistan will end up with 11 points.
Then, Pakistan will have to hope England lose at least two of their upcoming matches, and Bangladesh and Sri Lanka lose at least one match each.

So basically, apart from hoping that Pakistan win all three of their matches, Pakistan fans would also need to obsess over the outcome of England’s matches as the fate of the team is clearly intertwined with that of the hosts (who Pakistan beat at Trent Bridge earlier in the tournament).
Ok, Divine intervention, please don’t let England win more than one match?!
Hosts and favourites England haven’t quite lived up to their hype. They not only lost to Pakistan, they were also beaten by Sri Lanka, and that match quite literally opened up the points table for the other teams.
England will face India, New Zealand and Australia next – all three of which are tough teams to beat. If England lose all their remaining three matches, they would be stuck with 8 points and could face elimination.
Even if England win one of these matches, there are no guarantees for the semi-final berth, but their chances would increase. If Sri Lanka win all their remaining three matches, they can finish with 12 points and overtake England.
If England lose all three, they can still qualify if:
Sri Lanka lose all their remaining matches,
Pakistan and Bangladesh lose at least two of their remaining matches,
West Indies lose one match.
Bangladesh, please don’t win against Pakistan?
Bangladesh have 5 points from 6 matches, and are up against Afghanistan, India and Pakistan next. Pakistan need Bangladesh to lose at least one match (and, of course, Pakistan need to win all three of their remaining matches, so obviously they need to beat Bangladesh too).
If Bangladesh win all their matches, they will finish with 11 points and can still qualify if:
Sri Lanka lose all their remaining matches,
England win not more than one.
Sri Lanka, you need to lose one
Sri Lanka have 6 points from 6 matches. Their win against England catapulted them to number 5 on the points table, but all is not rosy for them yet. They have three more matches to go, against South Africa, West Indies and India.
If Sri Lanka win all these three games, they will have 12 points, cheers. But if they manage 10 points with two more wins, they will still have to hope England lose all their remaining matches, Bangladesh do not win more than two, and Pakistan lose at least one.

If Sri Lanka lose all three, they are out.
Pakistan need Sri Lanka to lose at least one match.
(Not really concerned with) West Indies
West Indies have 3 points from 6 games and have three more matches left, against India, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
Even if the Windies win all three, they will still have to rely on England to lose all their matches, and hope for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka to win not more than one each, and for Pakistan to lose at least two.
Smooth sailing for NZ, India, Australia
New Zealand and India are so far unbeaten in the tournament. New Zealand are at the top of the table with 11 points from 6 matches, and need just one more win to finalise their place in the top four.
India, who have 9 points from 5 matches, need only two more wins from their remaining 4 games. They play England, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh next.
Australia, with 10 points from 6 games, only need one more win to cement their place in the semi-finals. They next play England, New Zealand and South Africa.
Bangladesh isn't a worry. That's in our control since we play them last.
Only realistic option is England one. NZ ain't losing all their games and messing up their NRR and Aus ain't losing all their remaining games lmao
I expect WI and SA (or at least one of the 2) to beat SL.
This is such a lame, funny and entertaining thread - and it’s on the face of all those, INCLUDING Afridi, who said before the WC that,
”Pakistan will win the cup, inshallah, mashallah, jazakallah alhamdolilah, astaghafirullah, yarhamokallah, nasrum-minallah, feeamaanillah”
aur team ka standing aur rating ki haalut kia hai, dyekho. lol
lagta hai phuppo waqay hee chachu bun jayengee...
anyone got a spare ticket they wana sell for tmrws game?
The door to the semi final has just opened a little bit more (as long as the Aussies don't mess it up from here. England are one loss away from giving us the opportunity to overtake them if we can win our remaining games. Tomorrows game just became massive
I can’t believe England have fumbled it this bad, Pakistan deffo need to make the most of this chance or Sri Lanka and Bangladesh might

Bangladesh to next 2 matches nahi jeet raha Sri Lanka can win 2 out of 3 though!! Bangladesh ke next 2 matches Pakistan aur India ke saath hein Sri Lanka have got easier matches relatively against SAfrica and Windies!!
YES Aus win.
Step one is done.
Massive game tomorrow for Pak. Please just do your job and win.
Options are open bit Pakistan must win three games. It's as simple as that.
Point missed against SL is huge.
Slanka and England will end up on 10 points! Tomorrows game will decide whether Pakistan goes to semi final! Tomorrow is a mini quarter final! If we win tomorrow, we will have things slightly easier but with dangerous Bangladesh and Afghanistan to contend with!!
England is expected to beat NZ atleast and Sri Lanka are expected to beat SAfrica and Windies!!
So what is the scenario now folks
England needs to lose one out of two games either against India or NZ
Pakistan needs to win all 3 games.
Simple as that
Pak don’t mess up now, please.
NZ don't need to win tmrw, we just have to sneak one past them.
SL needs to lose one game too btw.
Yeah SL can’t win all 3. We need India to do us a favour by winning all, ideally.
