I believe he's not back yet but I am wondering when will he announce his retirement from ODI cricket like Malik?

Because he's officially 38, unofficially certain more.

His performance in was below par in the WC 2019. Threw away many starts and always found a way to ditch his team on part-timers when his team needed him the most as senior player.

Was very disappointing with the ball. Took only 2 wickets for 189 runs at an average of 94.50 and an economy rate of 5.90.

His fielding was horrendous & sluggish and played no role at all as senior player.

Therefore, I believe its high time for him to call it a day.

Obviously he is hoping, waiting and taking a chance as there are doubts on Sarfaraz’s removal from the helm.

There is no point appointing him as next captain, because he has no future. He's on a downhill and doesnt warrant a place in playing XI.

That said, atm Imad looks stronger contender to become captain.

I dont mind him not announcing anything, its his livelihood, I cant begrudge him trying to extend his career as much as he can, even if I think there is no point. what isnt forgivable is inzi and mickey picking him in the squad going forwards.

You do know he could make good money off playing in League cricket? There is no reason he should hold on to a spot for a youngster.

is Hafeez the chief selector, and did he select himself keeping out a youngster?

You could use the same logic for Malik. But we know what he did after this World Cup. So why can’t he? Serving Pakistan in a cricket team is a honor not a privilege. This guy should be able to decide for himself what is best for Pakistan cricket.

why cant he? of course he can. why should he? HES NOT THE SELECTOR. if he gets selected because hes made himself available ITS NOT HIS FAULT. why is the responsibility of his selection his and not the chief selector's? in what world does this make any sense whatsoever?

So players retire from cricket when they know there time is up due to selectors now?

Afridi and Malik are gone cause they actually thought of Pakistan crickets future. Its time Hafeez does the same to gain any lost respect.

Your missing the point here by making this about his job. I already said he could make enough money by League cricket. He does not need to hold his spot in the team when a youngster who could develop for the next 4 years can take it. The selectors are a problem we all know that. They pick these parchi cricketers all the time. But is it not Hafeez’s time to decide what is best for Pakistan cricket by making the decision himself? I mean Malik did it so can he.

I bet he has the potential to score 10k runs and 250 wickets for Pakistan. An Excellent Fielder as well and great cricketing mind to take up the captaincy role.
