Here I am ranking in order of merit the most entertaining batsmen ever to have played from the sub-continent.Ranked in term of entertainers and not pure class or records.

    1.Sannath Jayasuriya

Pioneered a new style of batting in opening overs in ODI cricket, taking an attack apart hammer and tongs from the 1st over itself. In full flow reminiscent of an acrobat performing tacks. Not just brute power but feline grace.Like a motor boat and a rolls royce car merged into one.

    2.Virendra Sehwag

Imagination in the realm of divinity executing strokes that were surreal.Took domination to regions rarely surpassed.

    3.Saed Anwar

Could take an attack by the sword with a subtlety of grace.A more stylish version of Sehwag.Reminiscent of a boxer and poet rolled into one.

    4.Krishnamachari Shrikanth

Could blaze away against the quickest of paceman like in the 1983 world cup final.More effective against genuine pace than even Sehwag.Master of the hook, pull and slashed drive.

    5.Mushtaq Ali

    Simply a flawed genius.

    6.Majid Khan
Artistry in regions of the sublime but basically a make shift opener who also batted for a considerable time in the middle order.

    7.Azhar Ali
A class act on his day with a huge range of strokes.

When Azhar Ali can be there and Salman Butt can be there, then i see no harm in including Aamir Sohail who was far superior!!

Jayasuriya, by far. He changed the ODI game. An early Saeed Anwar was a lot like him until he got reined in.

Jaya, Anwar, Sehwag in no particular order. Also, i believe sachin tendulkar should be there as he played as openers and must have scored more runs in that spot than some of the names mentioned in the list. I would also argue of Shahid Afridi, since the word 'entertainment' in cricket certainly belongs to him. I know he is not rated by cricket pundits as specialist but going by the number of matches he has played, like tendulkar, he must have played played more matches as an opener than some of the names mentioned in the list.
