Everyone thinks that by hitting every ball for six, you become a batsman? Why our nation thinks tuk tuk is a curse! Misbah aur Younus 2 bande sahi cricket khelte the un mein se eik ka naam tuk tuk rakh diya is nation ne!! Ever since young days when I used to play cricket, I always received criticism from every single person i met (mind you they have no idea about cricket or life at all in my opinion) including my coaches for playing tuk tuk!! Tuk Tuk Pakistani nation ko itna bura kiyun lagta hai!! Imran Khan ne bhi 92 WC tuk tuk se jeetaya tha boom boom se nahi aur Misbah bhi test No. 1 tuk tuk se bana kar gaya tha....

Younus should be the role model for many upcoming Test batsmen in our country, that is for sure.

But when it comes to limited overs cricket, especially in the modern era where the scoring rates should be high, nothing bad in idolising Afridi. Afridi is the standard of entertainment (in Pakistan cricket). And he is a legend with the ball in T20I format as well.

Thora sa credit atleast Misbah ko bhi do us ne aapki cricket ko us waqt sambhala jab aap ki credibility international cricket mein bilkul zero hogayee thi. He not only revived the credibility but also made Pakistan into No. 1 test team of the world although through his own conservative methods but he did that for sure!! I am sure thora sa credit atleast Misbah bhi deserve karta hai! Remember, becoming a great batsman most people can do but captaincy is not everyone's cup of tea!! He collected the broken flower vase of Pakistan team and rejoined the pieces and made us into World No. 1~~ Hum ne usko kiya diya? We labelled him "Tuk tuk" for his services to Pakistan cricket!! 99 per cent Pakistani and Asian fans consider Boom Boom as cricket only and only 1 per cent watches pure test cricket the old timers who read Dawn like me!! But, Boom Boom is not cricket in my opinion~~ It maybe entertaining but there is no thought process behind this commercial cricket!! Trick is when you get into a difficult situation in a game and you work your way back into the game through sheer hard work!! It requires patience, persistence, temperament and a lot of brilliance!! This never say die attitude is what makes cricket great not these sixes every ball that we see in t20 format!! A team fighting for a draw in test cricket is a sight to behold too!

Afridi is one of a kind. Blessed with the superstar status. Can’t really compare any other Pak cricketer to him.

Agree with that but I see Afridi more as a specialist bowler and bowling allrounder! I dont see him as a batsman only! Anybody trying to copy Shahid Afridi's batting style and he does not bowl or keep wickets is an absolute fool in my opinion!! Afridi is liye successful tha cus us ko fall back karne ke liye uske pass uski bowling thi! Whereas, batsmen trying to bat like Afridi have nothing to fall back upon! They dont bowl! People like Imran Nazir!! Afridi as a bowler i rate even above Waqar Younus at times but as a batsman sorry I dont consider him as a full time batsman! He was just a pinch hitter as a batsman who took his batting seriously at times under Bob Woolmer and Javed Miandad when they were coaches and these two coaches made him play to his full potential cus they made him value his wicket and hit the ball out of ground only when he was 100 per cent sure that ball would go out of the ground!!

Any player who idolises Misbah should be banned from all forms of cricket with immediate effect.

No good behaviour, no remedial measures. Banned, banned, banned!

Young kids don't watch Tests as much and so after watching Younis in Odis you won't blame them for thinking he wasn't no better than Malik or Hafeez.

If I could, I would give Misbah, a donkey ride in a fully packed Gaddafi stadium before permanently firing him from PCB.

Its their problem man, let them idiolize whoever they want. Why are you forcing yourself on them ?

And btw this idiolizing thing is aboslute nonsense. Idiolising someone doesnt mean you will become player like that or will have qualities or abilities like that particular player.

Tamim Iqbal idiolise Afridi.. tell me from what angle he looks like Afridi ?

stop your essays. No one can be like Afridi. Afridis are born, not made.

Not just his cricketing credentials, he was a full package, as a person, character, personality and swashbuckling panache.

Of Shahid Afridi it can safely be said that cricket never has and never will see another like him. To say he is an allrounder is to say Albert Einstein was a scientist; it tells a criminally bare story.
