Still remember when Pakistan was defeated and down than there were multiple reports of grouping in the team came to fore. However, we all witnessed how Pakistan showed character, stood up in very difficult circumstances, gained momentum in the tournament (even though too late) and won remaining games.

In their last few games, nobody could say that there was grouping (though it might be true, we just dont know yet).

That said, in your opinion, why do reports of groupings in a team emerge after defeats and then diminishes latter?

It’s usual delusion where people don’t want to accept the team is good enough.

Funny how all the rumours of a rift in the pak team disappeared as soon as they started winning again. (I do accept that there probably were some rifts somewhere. The Aus series seems to point something amiss - resting Sarfraz and “trying out” malik and imad as captains)

And now that the Indian team has lost, all of a sudden rumours of a rift between Kohli and rohit.

    You have to blame something.

Divided house is the simplest and mostly acceptable bet. We just need 2 person not looking at each other in a frame to start the rumor of infighting.

Because drama sells. Its the best excuse if the team loses.
