Great servant of the game who has brought a smile to many Pakistani faces. One of the more honest and hardworking cricketers in our setup and I hope that he goes with a bang by helping Pakistan defeat the Windies in the Carribean.

To think he missed 1-2 years of his better years in between due to fall out with PCB. Could have achieved more

One of the best to do it. His calming presence will be missed in the middle order and I hope he goes out on a real high.

Time for someone to step up and fill his shoes.

A true champion who carried the Pakistan test side by himself numerous times, kept on playing for the country despite bereavements and would score when we needed it. This guy has mountains of runs for Pakistans and stacks of tough centuries.

Played with a smile on his face despite the chaos around me. I wish him real success moving forward. He was the last of Pakistans batting giants and it seems that there is nobody left to pasd the torch onto.

Could this be the moment where Pakistan cease staying afloat and are finally confined to the ranks of minnows? I hope not but somebody has to the have the heart to pickup the torch from Younis. Asad,Azhar, Babar our future is in your hands.

^ We will become a test minnow now and I cannot wait to see the misery on the faces of those that underhyped YK and wanted him gone.

The importance of this man in our test rise is unrivalled.

pak will be in trouble, no one to replace him. last year was azhar and asads time to step up but asad failed and azhar moved out of the middle order.

big big responsibility on babar azam to step up, and asad to finally come good and start playing big innings, cant hide at number six anymore.

true, but knowing pcb theyll bring back hafeez and kamran instead.

    shehzad
    azhar
    hafeez
    babar
    shafiq
    salahuddin / akmal

hardly a top six to strike fear in opposition :/

    shehzad
    azhar
    babar
    shafiq
    fawad
    salahuddin

is pbly a bit more balanced.

The only man that deserves a chance now is Fawad Alam. Not the rest of these selfish youngsters who play for themselves. It is about time some damn justice is done with that poor guy.

Team has only two good test bats left now, Azhar and Asad and just one good bowler in Yasir Shah.

This loss really would affect us.

Lot of respect for YK; a legend in test and a great servant of Pakistan cricket. We are going to miss him.

It was inevitable, however it still feels sad thinking of a test side without the great player.
Whenever he got to a 50 you knew it was going to be a big one.
    Such a legendary player.
At least I can say I saw him play some of his best innings.
Retires as a true ATG of the game.
Lets hope he can score another double before signing off!

Will be a sad day for me when Younis walks back to the pavilion for the final time. I had witnessed his entire career since 2000. Will be more sad than I was when I saw Inzi walking back for the last time against SA in 2007.

Arguably the greatest Pakistani Test batsmen ever.

People are acting like our test team will collapse without him and Misbah but that is seriously underrating our future.

    Though, end of an era.

Time for Haris and Fawad to be thrown into the middle order, and carry us for the next 5 years, at least.

Is that because they average 50+ & Usman averages 47 ?

I don't think too many people hype him. But he has been racking up some good numbers over the last season and him being recalled means ha is in line to become part of that middle order.

I didn't want him to retire yet either but I doubt we will be minnows. Most of the matches we win are at home anyway and the rest of our batting does just fine there tbh.
